A Concubine's Daughter from the Start, and Now I'm the Emperor!

A female-led power struggle with a leveling-up progression.

I transmigrated into the body of an unloved daughter born to an unloved concubine in a family of ancient officials. The clan was prosperous and its descendants numerous. There were dozens upon dozens of them, and I couldn't even match faces to names. If I wanted to kill someone who'd bullied me, I wouldn't even know who they were.

As for how to kill them, I brought a System with me when I transmigrated. It had two important features.

One let me see other people's attributes. The other let me draw ancient historical figures and gain their destiny.

The first destiny I drew belonged to the Jiaqing Emperor: a gift of an elixir.

This emperor was very fond of alchemy, but never ate his own pills. He gave them to other people instead, and they were pretty much guaranteed to poison whoever took them.

I was full of confidence as I prepared to start my life of household intrigue. I even thought palace intrigue would be better, so I looked into it and learned that the current emperor was close to death. I was already planning to enter the palace in a few years, once the new emperor ascended, and join the great harem battle royale.

But when I looked into which prince had the most potential, I discovered that although the emperor was close to death, he was also close to going mad.

He had tried to raise his heirs like venomous insects in a jar, but it had gone wrong.

Most of his sons were dead, and the few left were useless. So, to secure the next emperor's position, he decided to take all his old associates down with him, including my grandfather.

He didn't believe it.

After giving him a dignified end, I decided to take my branch of the family and run. We'd wait a few years for things to settle down, then come back and enter the palace for the battle royale.

Things never settled down.

Fortunately, I discovered that I was pretty well suited to being emperor.
