A socially mortifying but invincible heroine x a socially anxious male lead who can't help imagining things and falling for her.
"Jujiu, you might not believe this, but I fell in love at first sight with my neighbor. He's so ridiculously handsome, though, he must already be taken."
Zhong Caiyou was talking nonsense with her gaming buddy.
Her buddy was a good listener, though he never turned on his mic. Fortunately, he typed incredibly fast, so they could communicate just fine.
In truth, she hadn't fallen in love at first sight with her handsome neighbor. She'd just brought it up to liven things up.
"I asked him for his contact info today, but he ignored me. Sigh, I've been rejected. I need consoling."
They'd ridden the elevator upstairs together without doing anything, but that didn't stop Zhong Caiyou from enthusiastically sharing her made-up heartbreak story with her buddy.
[...Really?]
Everyone loves gossip, it seemed. After she kept wailing about it, her buddy actually started giving her advice on how to win someone over.
Oh no, why was her buddy getting more and more interesting?
Zuo Junjiu was a writer, and a socially anxious one at that.
Gaming was his only way of socializing with people.
But he was just as socially anxious online as he was in person, and somehow managed to turn an online game into a single-player one.
That was, until he met a gaming buddy who didn't mind that he never used his mic.
His buddy was loud, but that was fine.
She loved to talk, so much so that Zuo Junjiu realized from her stories that she was his neighbor.
Zuo Junjiu: "..."
Fortunately, his neighbor didn't know.
"I fell in love at first sight with my neighbor."
Zuo Junjiu's social anxiety flared up. He wanted to delete his account and move away that very night.
"I asked him for his contact info today, but he ignored me."
Zuo Junjiu began to doubt himself.
Could the person his gaming buddy had fallen for at first sight really not be him?
