First, a little promotion for my new novel, The Ineffective Murder Plot of a Pretend Sick Beauty, currently updating.
Main story complete!!!
Materialist cop x arrogant winged god
Gong Yanqi is a hardline materialist, a straight-laced criminal police captain and a thoroughgoing atheist. That is, until he finds a white-haired, barefoot "cosplayer" at a murder scene, with half a wing fluttering behind him, completely shattering his worldview.
"Mortal, I can help you solve the case." The cosplayer lifts his chin arrogantly, his eyes a clear ice blue, with some unidentified red liquid on his feathers.
Gong Yanqi instead pulls out a pair of handcuffs. "Quit pretending to be a god! You're coming to the station to give a statement."
Bai Yi is the last winged god in the heavenly realm, responsible for judging and punishing mortal crimes. One day, he accidentally falls out of the divine realm while asleep. Half his wings are severed, and he loses his divine powers. He lands right at a crime scene, where a straight-laced cop finds him and brings him back to the police station as a suspect.
Unable to use his divine powers or return to the heavenly realm, the fallen god can only be ordered around by the straight-laced cop.
The winged god secretly swears that one day, he'll make this foolish mortal kneel at his feet and beg for mercy!
As it turns out, someone does beg for mercy, but... the roles are a little different...
There are two kinds of people Gong Yanqi hates most: con artists pretending to be supernatural, and lunatics who think too highly of themselves.
Unfortunately, the "Lord Winged God" who fell from the sky and landed in the interrogation room manages to hit both his pet peeves at once, and there's no getting around it.
"Name."
"Bai Yi."
"Occupation."
"I carry out Heaven's punishment and oversee judgment."
"Age?"
"3,572."
"Do you believe I'll send you to a psychiatric hospital right now?"
"Mortal, you are provoking me!"
Bai Yi, the winged god being treated as a suspect, feels terribly wronged. He merely slipped and fell into the human world while dozing, yet this audacious mortal dares to doubt him and even... rub his newly grown down feathers!
Even worse, when he uses his divine power to peer into the man's thoughts, all he sees are explicit fantasies of himself being restrained in all sorts of places!
"What on earth is going on in your head?!"
"Experiments to prove you're real." Gong Yanqi loosens his tie and pins the ruffled god down on the table.
But white feathers keep turning up at crime scenes, and everything Bai Yi says comes true in the investigations. Gong Yanqi has no choice but to accept that his molting suspect really is a heavenly civil servant!
"I didn't think you were more than just a severe case of chuunibyou!" Gong Yanqi grips the god's chin. "You can stay at my place if you hand over ten divine feathers every day!"
"Bullshit! I'm not a dandelion!"
