Junior Brother GB

[The blurb is from the male lead's perspective]

The day I fell into demonic cultivation, Senior Sister held her sword to my shoulder and asked why I had personally killed Senior Brother and Master.

I thought of Senior Brother, who wanted to take her spiritual roots. I thought of Master, who wanted to dig out her immortal bones. I thought of the harmony everyone in the sect pretended to share. I thought of how Senior Sister needed to take my corpse back to answer to Grandmaster.

I said nothing.

Senior Sister said that, since we had been fellow disciples, she would let me speak my last words. I thought of the decades I'd spent following her, of the way I'd traced her features with my eyes day and night, and of how she had stood in front of me when a hundred ghosts roamed the night.

I still said nothing. I only leaned over and gently kissed the tip of her sword.

When I woke again, the candle by the bed was greedily licking at the air. As the flames crackled, Senior Sister sat at the foot of the bed, wiping her sword.

I had no time to be surprised that I was still alive before Senior Sister put away her sword and glanced at me coolly. "You're awake?"

But what I thought then was: Senior Sister, why are you wiping the sword I kissed?

P.S. The blurb is in the male lead's first-person perspective; the main story is in the female lead's third-person perspective. The male lead is pure in both body and heart.
