Ling Yun was a poor scholar, gifted in both looks and talent, a genius beyond compare. At just sixteen, he had already earned two top honors in the imperial examinations.

He traveled to the capital to sit for the exams. They had yet to begin, but his fame had already spread. The Crown Prince took a liking to him, welcomed him as an honored guest, and promised to pave his way to success.

He said only, "I have mastered the arts of letters and war. Now I shall serve the emperor."

A confidential letter made its way to the emperor.

"...They spend a great deal of time together?" The emperor scoffed. "I would like to see what kind of talent could make the Crown Prince lose his appetite and sleep."

Who could have guessed that one meeting would leave him unable to look away?

Deep within the palace, upon the imperial bed, they surrendered to passion, swept up in a sea of desire.

The Son of Heaven bent over the young man, lips brushing his ear. His voice was hoarse. "Compared to him, who is better?"

There was no answer, only a sob.
