Eldritch Idol

In the late stages of the universe's decline, humanity no longer believes in gods. To keep from vanishing from the universe, the ancient chaos god Chaos, who survives on human faith, tears through space and time and arrives in the modern world on Earth.

Since the entertainment industry on Earth can reap a huge amount of faith in a short time, he decides to join it and become an idol.

So he enters a talent competition.

During the first-stage evaluation, the judges look at the boy's almost unnaturally handsome face and pause.

"The song you'll perform is... 'Hymn to Chaos'? Is this an original song?"

Chaos answers solemnly, "No. It's an ancient god's chant."

The judges are dumbfounded.

Where did this chuunibyou come from?

But the instant he opens his mouth, everyone in the venue unconsciously trembles and sinks to their knees at the sound of his singing, becoming its devotees from the bottom of their hearts. Only then do they realize they've encountered the real thing!

At the live show, Chaos gazes at the countless excited, fervent faces below the stage and muses, "Are all these people my followers?"

Beside him, the staff member, already used to his occasional chuunibyou remarks, keeps a straight face.

"...No, they're your fans."

Chaos tilts his head. "What's the difference?"

The staff member: "..."

There doesn't seem to be one.

Viewers of King of Idols never imagined that the person who would ultimately make their debut in the center spot on this talent show would be a chuunibyou.

He not only calls his fans followers, but earnestly asks them what they wish for at fan signings.

Even stranger, those fans' wishes actually come true!
