My new novel, The Daily Life of the Qin King of Great Qin in the Underworld [Quick Transmigration], is now available. Please check it out!
(Daily life, family bonds, feel-good, political intrigue, raising kids, and nation-building. Paragraph comments are open. The number of people who can hear the inner voice grows from few to many. Corrections welcome.)
Brief synopsis: Ying Yue has three lifelong mysteries.
His own origins, Zhao Gao's death, and how he somehow became Crown Prince, then eventually the Second Emperor of Qin.
This can't be right, can it?
Full synopsis: Qin Yue transmigrated into the son of the First Emperor, the legendary ancestor dragon who unified the Six States and whose achievements would be remembered for all time. A Qin transmigration story, the usual novel trope, right?
Wait, why am I the eldest son, and why am I called Ying Yue instead of Fusu?
This can't be right, can it?
He even got the perks that come with transmigrating.
Good news: Ying Yue got a gossip System. He could eat and drink, follow the gossip, and tinker with little inventions on the side. What a life!
Bad news: The System had a bug, and the First Emperor could hear his inner voice!
Even worse, he didn't know it!
The Xianyang Palace was brightly lit. King Zheng of Qin glanced at the newborn baby in his arms and frowned.
This wrinkly, wet-skinned thing really was his child?
At the same time, the baby in his arms opened his big eyes and stared at him.
[Wow, so this is the ancestor dragon who unified the Six States and brought the world under one rule. So handsome, so handsome!]
[Oh, right, what year is it now...?]
Ying Yue glanced at the time displayed by the System and sucked in a sharp breath.
[Year Seven of King Zheng... Wait, if I calculate it, Lao Ai should be hiding in Yongcheng with Queen Dowager Zhao under the pretense of fortune-telling. Doesn't that mean he's about to start a rebellion?]
[A fake eunuch used bedroom tricks to win the Queen Dowager's favor, and even got her pregnant. That still wasn't enough for him, so he wanted to flip the table. Greedy, much?]
[Huh? Why is Father staring at him?]
The gossip stopped. Ying Yue: ...The worst is when the atmosphere suddenly goes quiet.
*
Zhao Gao still showed up.
Ying Yue was annoyed as soon as he saw him, and racked his brain for a way to get rid of him without anyone noticing.
But he was still just a useless little kid, with no power, no influence, and no excuse...
[If I tell Father outright that Zhao Gao is a treacherous minister who abuses his power and causes Meng Tian's death, alters the imperial edict and forces Fusu to die, and executes Li Si... and that he'll eventually bring the Qin dynasty to ruin, no one will believe me...]
Ying Yue scrunched up his little face, full of worry.
"Your Majesty, weren't you...?"
The wet nurse's voice suddenly sounded, and Ying Yue froze, blinking.
[Huh? Why is Father doing a sneak attack from behind?]
[Wait, wait. Why does Father look kind of grumpy right now?]
The wet nurse sensed that something was off and was completely baffled. Fortunately, the king soon left.
Later, Ying Yue suddenly heard from the wet nurse that Zhao Gao was dead.
Thinking he must have misheard, Ying Yue sat up at once.
What a shock!
That's not how the story goes!
*
As a child, Ying Yue would grab his ancestor's clothes and demand to be held and rocked to sleep.
The King of Qin didn't understand. The King of Qin was annoyed. The King of Qin did as he was asked.
And so, day after day and year after year, Ying Yue grew up.
When the time came to choose an heir, civil and military officials argued fiercely over which prince should be named Crown Prince.
One group of ministers: It has to be Prince Fusu! He's virtuous, benevolent, talented, and morally upright!
The other officials nodded, finding the argument reasonable.
Another group of ministers: Prince Yue is just as good, and he's the eldest son!
To depose the eldest and appoint a younger son is a recipe for disorder!
The officials argued back and forth. When they finally calmed down, they respectfully asked Ying Zheng what he thought.
Ying Zheng said nothing. He drew the Tai'e Sword and announced, "I intend to name Ying Yue Crown Prince."
Half the court was delighted, and the other half worried.
Ying Yue, eavesdropping outside the hall, was stunned: "..."
[What? I'm going to become Crown Prince?]
At first, Ying Yue was troubled. What was he supposed to do about becoming Crown Prince out of nowhere?
Later, he panicked. Wait, I'm becoming the Second Emperor of Qin?
What could he do? The plan had changed, so he would ascend the throne and make Great Qin the only empire in the world!

Reader's guide:
1. This is a child-rearing novel with a relatively serious tone, focused on family bonds and the protagonist's career. It follows the journey from disunity to unification. It starts slow, but gets satisfying later! The whole thing is a power fantasy. Everything is set up to serve the plot. Apologies for any out-of-character moments. I won't whitewash Zhao Gao or Hu Hai.
2. Fusu is in the story, but he isn't the eldest son. History novices are welcome to read.
3. The number of people who can hear the inner voice grows over time. The male lead is reborn in the womb and retains modern thinking. There's a romance, but very little of it. The female lead appears later, so please don't read if that bothers you.
4. Content warning: The protagonist is a child prodigy, and the First Emperor has a romantic storyline. Some of the princes and princesses do too. Please don't read if you can't accept that!
5. I'm a reliable author, so come join the fun!

…Another story of the same type: The Daily Life of the Qin Emperor in the Underworld
Synopsis: After Fusu died, he found himself standing on a bridge. A long queue stretched ahead, disappearing into the distance. When he asked someone nearby, he learned it was the Bridge of Helplessness, and that drinking the bowl of water would send him off to reincarnate.
Fusu was heartbroken. So he was dead.
The tall man in front of him noticed his reddened eyes and asked, "Young friend, how did you die?"
Fusu said, "I was sentenced to death by my own father."
The words made him feel even worse.
The man sighed and asked, "Then who is your father?"
Fusu: "My father is Qin Shi Huang, Ying Zheng."
The man's eyes widened... "Who did you say your father was?"
At the same time, the person in front of the man turned around, then the person in front of him, and the one before them, and so on. Everyone looked back.
Little Fusu stared at their complicated expressions and asked, one word at a time, "Is there a problem?"
In unison, many people answered, "There's a huge problem."
Fusu: "???
Who are you?"
The men: "We're your father's ancestors."
Fusu: "!"
The ancestors marched Fusu over to Ying Zheng, who was at the front of the underworld's queue. "Take a look. Do you know who this is?"
Ying Zheng: "!!! Why are you dead?"
Later, when the Second Emperor, Hu Hai, finally arrived, the ancestors and Ying Zheng, who already knew what had happened, looked grim.
Hu Hai had no idea what was going on. He spotted Ying Zheng and happily ran over to hug him.
Instead, everyone saw Hu Hai get kicked several meters away, nearly having his soul knocked apart.
Fusu: I can't look. That must have hurt!
Ancestor One: Good. He deserved it. That's not enough!
Ancestor Two: Damn it, I want to punch him too. What a disgrace...
Hu Hai looked at Ying Zheng through his tears. "Father, don't you love me anymore?"
Later, Zhao Gao and Li Si arrived too.
Ying Zheng waited at the very front, while the ancestors and Fusu hid far away to watch the show.
Zhao Gao and Hu Hai watched everyone run off, completely baffled. ...Why does it feel like there's killing intent?
Because resentment and violence in the underworld had grown too great, Heaven's Way took turns sending the most difficult Qin Shi Huang and the mildest Fusu out to change the world. The others took turns too, so the underworld wouldn't be filled with people howling all day long.
World One: Fusu transmigrates to Handan and raises little Zheng.
World Two: Brother Zheng transmigrates as Emperor Renzong of Song, while Fusu becomes Zui Xinglai. Together, they defeat Western Xia and expand the realm.
World Three: Ying Zheng transmigrates as Li Chengqian, proving that even a deposed crown prince can become emperor.
...More worlds to come.
Core theme: The dragon's might shakes the heavens for thousands of miles, bringing wisdom to the common people.
