[A battle-ready top-tier attacker who adores foxes x a soft, adorable fox who’s forced to stand on his own]
After accidentally drowning and waking up, Su Yao discovered that he had transmigrated into the cultivation world as a tiny fox cub. Not only was a pack of wolves chasing him, but an unfamiliar cultivator had captured him and was about to give him away as a favor.
To stay alive, Su Yao set his sights on an immortal lord who looked especially powerful. He tried everything, acting cute and pleading to be taken in, and finally got his wish: he latched on to a powerful patron and became a happy spirit pet.
His patron was named Du Hanchuan, a lofty immortal of the Cloud Dust Pavilion, aloof and solitary, living high on a frigid, snow-covered mountain. He had the otherworldly bearing of someone untouched by earthly concerns.
Su Yao patted his little chest. As the immortal lord’s fox, and one who could breathe fire, it was his job to warm the immortal lord up!
As the lofty immortal’s spirit pet, Su Yao’s status rose along with his. Everyone in the Cloud Dust Pavilion loved feeding him, the owner of the Spirit Companion House greeted him with a smile whenever they met, and the cultivator who had once given him away as a favor was filled with regret.
The little fox always held his tail high, strutting back and forth on the immortal lord’s shoulder with a proud air.
There was just one thing that troubled Su Yao: the immortal lord seemed addicted to petting foxes. He was always rubbing him and stroking his tail, and eventually he went too far, kissing him, biting him, and bullying him!
Well, so what? He was the immortal lord’s spirit pet, after all! It definitely, absolutely wasn’t because he liked being petted, rubbed, or kissed!
He thought he would live out his ideal, lie-flat fox life in the cultivation world, but it turned out that he was the reincarnation of some nine-tailed fox. The blood and fur of a divine beast were priceless treasures, and everyone in the world coveted them.
Having received so much from the immortal lord, Su Yao didn’t want to drag him down. With tears in his eyes, the little fox packed his things and fled to Qingqiu in the middle of the night, determined to face it all alone!
But one night, Du Hanchuan broke into Qingqiu’s barrier, the blade of his Wujin sword stained with blood and still warm.
“Yaoyao, you always blame me for leaving you behind.” The aloof immortal lord’s breath was close enough to feel, carrying the faint scent of alcohol. His warm, husky voice curled around Su Yao’s ear as he stood in human form, somehow sounding a little aggrieved. “But now you’re hiding from me. Is this how you mean to punish me?”
“Don’t go, Yaoyao. Whether you’re a nine-tailed fox, a human, or a fox spirit, you’re the cultivation partner I’ve chosen, my wife.”
Then his expression turned reverent.
“I have failed my master in every way in this life. I once meant to sacrifice myself to the Dao, but fortunately, I met you, and you saw me through a journey of wind and snow. From now on, I only want to keep you safe.”
“Yaoyao, say yes. Let me stay and protect you, all right?”
Su Yao blinked. Behind the hill, he saw fox ears popping up one after another as their owners eavesdropped. His cheeks gradually began to burn.
He didn’t answer. He just hugged the immortal lord tightly.
He might be a big fox now, but fighting was exhausting and painful, and he didn’t like it. He’d rather stay in the immortal lord’s arms and take it easy.
[Reading Guide]
1. Each chapter has a little bonus scene in the author’s notes, so don’t miss them.
2. This is a slow-burn story, not simply a sweet romance or a fluffy pet-raising story. The early parts feature adorable everyday fox-raising, adventure plots, and the immortal lord’s redemption arc. The later parts focus on the little fox’s growth.
3. I’m getting back into writing after a break, and this is my first time trying this genre. Please be kind! I hope readers of this story can also let go of their old sadness and sorrow and find healing in it.
4. Please add it to your favorites, interact, and leave comments!
5. I have four other upcoming stories in my author profile, all of different genres. Check out whichever ones you like. ^^

Here’s a preview of my next upcoming novel, Saving My High-Risk Junior Disciple Backfired:
A seemingly frail and harmless top who controls everything x a task-focused, snarky, straight male reader who transmigrates into a book
Gu Chiyu accidentally wandered into an explicit novel late at night and died from getting too worked up while ranting about it. He transmigrated into the story as one of the scum tops: the head disciple with the same name under the Tianxin Sect leader, who enjoyed tormenting the protagonist. He also got bound to a System.
The System promised that if he successfully saved his junior disciple, Shen Ling, and kept him from being victimized by the scum tops, he would get the chance to be reborn and a ten-billion-yuan reward in the real world.
Gu Chiyu: The money doesn’t matter. I’m a righteous person, so ten billion… I mean, my precious junior disciple, I’m coming!
His junior disciple, Weisheng Chen, secretly slipped a huge dose of aphrodisiac into the drink he was serving Shen Ling, under the pretext of watching the moon? No problem. Gu Chiyu would kick the bowl away.
The Demon Lord Mingyan fell in love with Shen Ling at first sight while he was out training and kept pestering him, even blocking his door to snatch him away? Gu Chiyu would search the entire book for plot points and simply take Shen Ling on another route.
Their shared master, Cang Yutang, the head of the Tianxin Sect, coveted Shen Ling’s constitution and wanted to summon him during his seclusion? Gu Chiyu would go along. He refused to believe the old man would dare try anything.
And the vine monsters in the secret realm, and the lecherous ghosts in the mortal world? He’d burn them all to the ground! If he ran into someone he couldn’t beat, he’d take Shen Ling and run!
As they spent more time together, Shen Ling gradually let down his guard around him and grew more and more clingy and dependent. Shen Ling remembered all his preferences and cooked his favorite dishes. He waited outside the cave where Gu Chiyu was in seclusion until he came out. After Gu Chiyu fought someone, Shen Ling would hold his wrist, eyes red, and gently blow on it, asking if it hurt. He would also snuggle into Gu Chiyu’s arms, gaze at him in admiration, and say, “Senior Brother Xiaoyu is the best…”
Gu Chiyu was charmed and began taking even better care of Shen Ling. But as he completed more and more tasks, events gradually strayed from the original plot.
After Weisheng Chen fell to demonic cultivation, Cang Yutang suffered a demonic deviation during his seclusion. The two joined forces with the Demon Lord to overthrow the immortal sects. Gu Chiyu had no choice but to abandon all his plans and take Shen Ling through a secret passage to flee ahead of schedule.
But halfway through, a sudden pain seized his chest. His spiritual power was completely sealed, and, worse still, he had unknowingly been drugged. His whole body was limp and weak.
He watched helplessly as Shen Ling walked toward him, crushing nine-petaled blue lotuses underfoot with each step. His pure white robes were stained with blood, and a vivid red lotus mark slowly appeared between his brows.
That was the mark of a demonic cultivator.
Gu Chiyu braced himself against the wall, dizzy and disoriented. “How… how did you… turn out like this…?”
“Of course, it’s because…”
Shen Ling wrapped his arms around him from behind and said softly, “That useless guy died a long time ago.”

Premise: Existing is reason enough.
I'm a little curious, what does Bai Yanjing think of this matter? I think it's a bit like (personal feeling) it's a bitter trick? And why did Bai Yanjing save the red carp in the end? I'm curious, can the author give an answer? [Let me be healthy]
The writing is very good [like it], but there are a few bits of writing that are difficult to understand (personal feeling), but it does not affect the reading of the full text. Also, the ending is a bit abrupt, right? (Maybe, I don't know, don't ask me) You can lay the groundwork as much as possible before writing like this. Then…no more…
No one can say no to the little fox! 😍😍
I'm laughing so hard. My master's pet is not a bird in the same forest. When disaster strikes, we will fly separately [covering my face and laughing]
Fairy Lord, please kiss this little fox to death, okay 😍
The Immortal Lord is so bad~ He knows how to bully us little foxes! 😏😏
