[Cthulhu] A Happy Investigator's Life

Bellona Marius is an old character card who has been through multiple tabletop campaigns.

For some reason, she ended up in early nineteenth-century England, turning from a card into a real person.

She also got a gigantic estate and a bald butler who can do just about anything.

In this era, women cannot inherit property.

Bellona: Easy. I'm a widow who has outlived three husbands.

But why does a world like this need an investigator like me?

Then one day, she was invited to the opening ceremony of a new planetarium. She looked through the telescope and saw an eye in the starry sky looking right back at her.

Was that... her mother?

"I have never needed to pray, because the true god has long since turned her gaze upon me."

Chen Xinglan is sentimental. She rarely gets tired of the things she loves, whether it's tabletop role-playing games or a match-three game where a bald butler nags her every day to build an estate.

One morning, she discovered that the character card she'd used the longest had run away, taking the enormous estate she'd painstakingly matched her way to along with it.

Chen Xinglan: ?

A beautiful, wealthy new face appears in society.

"Even if she had nothing else, the gold in her hands alone would make her the perfect woman in any man's eyes."

"One of her few hobbies is stargazing."

'And calling the stars her mother,' the maid thought, rolling her eyes as she listened to a group of men gossiping.

Bellona represents Venus, while the root of Marius is related to the Latin word "maris" (stars), corresponding to Xinglan.

The heroine's special power is her "mother."

The mother was inspired by the idea that "even an ordinary reader would count as an outer god in a lower-dimensional world."

Not strict Lovecraftian Cthulhu Mythos.
