Synopsis:

The gossip and entertainment sections across the star regions have been buzzing lately.

First, the empire's crown prince, who had made his relationship public with great fanfare just a few months ago, was asked by a reporter how things were going. He immediately darkened his expression and said, "I just think his original form is really nice to pet. I have no plans to take things further for now." His remark drew criticism from netizens across the star regions.

Then an anonymous user posted in a virtual community, claiming that the crown prince's scumbag remark was just an outburst of embarrassment. In reality, the crown prince was completely smitten with his prospective crown princess. Not long after they made their relationship public, he planned to propose, only to be rejected.

The post caused an uproar.

Bai Yu has been a little afraid to sleep lately. Whenever he falls asleep, he dreams, and the look of disbelief on Jin Qiao's face when Bai Yu turned him down keeps appearing in his dreams.

What makes him feel even guiltier is that, as his food-streaming career has started to take off, people have begun digging up details of his past.

Bai Yu reassures himself: Relax. We agreed from the start that it was just a contractual relationship. So what if I petted my boss during my off hours? How was I supposed to know he'd read too much into it?

Bai Yu tosses and turns in bed, trying to shake himself awake. His smart wristband suddenly receives a message. He opens it and sees that it's from Jin Qiao.

Bai Yu is shocked. He hasn't blocked me yet?

Trembling, Bai Yu taps the voice message. Jin Qiao's gloomy voice comes through: "You used to keep a snow leopard? So that's why you kept kissing and cuddling my original form every day? You're comparing me to an unevolved animal? If you want a substitute, why don't you go find one at the zoo?"

Bai Yu is so startled that he throws his wristband away.

At a banquet some time later.

A noblewoman whispers to her friend about Bai Yu: "He's so handsome. It's a shame we're both Omegas."

Her friend teases her with a laugh. "Why not give it a try? The new emperor advocates freedom in love, after all. And I heard Mr. Bai is an S-rank Omega. He might be more of an Alpha than most Alphas."

The noblewoman covers her friend's mouth with a fan. "Are you crazy? Don't put Mr. Bai and His Majesty in the same sentence."

Her friend takes a deep breath. "I forgot. He actually turned down His Majesty... Shh, the emperor's here."

Though they are a long way away, the two women still rise and bow respectfully. Once they sit down again, the noblewoman whispers, "It looks like His Majesty is holding a cat."

Her friend carefully looks up. "It does, but it's too far away to see clearly... Hey, where's Mr. Bai? Wasn't he just here?"

The noblewoman gives her a knowing look. "He must have seen the emperor coming and left because he didn't dare face him."

Elsewhere, Jin Qiao has already carried the cat to a secluded spot.

"Stop scratching," Jin Qiao says. "Be good."

"You actually used your pheromones to force me back into my original form..." Bai Yu struggles desperately, but Jin Qiao holds him tightly in his arms, and he can't break free.

"You never used to treat me this way." Bai Yu gives up.

"Mm." Jin Qiao doesn't deny it. "I also never knew you would lie to me."

Bai Yu freezes, retracts his claws, and quietly curls up in Jin Qiao's arms.

"See? Treating you well only gets me tossed aside." Jin Qiao smiles, but there's not a trace of amusement in his eyes. "Bai Yu, you brought this on yourself."

Huh? Li Xingyi looks down at himself... Oh, he must have been so comfortable that he accidentally changed back into his original form while sleeping.

Huh?!!!

A handsome Alpha is calling his original form "Mimi" instead of screaming, "Oh my God, that's a huge tiger! Help!"???

Li Xingyi later finds out that his first love is named Yue Feng. He's a domineering CEO even richer than Li Xingyi's dad. But this tall, long-legged Alpha's original form is an unremarkable little black snake, the kind Li Xingyi could flatten with one paw.

Oh well, nobody's perfect, Li Xingyi thinks. It's already amazing that I managed to get into a relationship. A little black snake is fine. Look, this little snake even has a pair of tiny wings on its back. How cute.

To avoid scaring off his hard-won boyfriend, Li Xingyi works hard at playing the easygoing big cat who lets himself be petted and cuddled. He not only lets the little snake sleep on his soft belly, but even gives in to temptation and lets the snake touch his tiger bell...

What a thrill, Li Xingyi thinks. Dating is actually pretty fun.

After Li Xingyi has had his fill of romance and played Mimi long enough, he decides to pull up his pants and pretend nothing happened. He briskly asks for a breakup, but the usually easygoing Alpha refuses with uncharacteristic determination.

Li Xingyi gets angry and immediately changes back into his original form, letting out a tiger's roar.

Just because I haven't shown my claws, you really think I'm a cuddly tiger? If you like Mimi so much, go get yourself a cat!

After roaring, Li Xingyi confidently turns to leave, only to find his path blocked by a gigantic creature that has appeared out of nowhere.

Oh my God, what a huge snake! Help!!!

Before Li Xingyi can even scream, the gloomy giant snake coils around him. "Baby, can I keep being your boyfriend and calling you Mimi?"

Li Xingyi: ...

Li Xingyi: "Meow, meow meow."
