You Have Been Marked as the Sole Recipient

"Like two stars quietly drawing closer, until they fall into each other's orbit without even realizing it."

This is a world where everyone receives a letter from the Post Office of Fate on their eighteenth birthday.

The letter contains a sentence hinting at one trait of the person they will fall in love with.

Some people receive, "He'll fill your backyard with gardenias"; others get, "She always leaves her socks on the sofa." And some... receive nothing at all.

Zhi Zao was the unlucky one who got nothing on her eighteenth birthday. After that, she stopped believing in this fate nonsense altogether.

-

As a bookstore owner, Yu Kouyan handles countless letters of fate returned by their recipients every day.

One day, he discovers that one of the returned letters says:

[You are the final destination of her letter.]

At first, he thinks it's a System error, until... Zhi Zao walks into his bookstore.

From then on, he secretly tucks little surprises into the books she buys every day.

Nothing elaborate: a note saying "You look lovely today" inside Sherlock Holmes, a piece of candy tucked into No Longer Human, a sticky note saying "Your fate is here" for her to find...

-

She never believes in fate, but that bastard fate keeps secretly collecting her letters and delivering them to him.
