[Blurb for the new novel]
[Blind landlord x community barber | Gentle, devoted man x resilient heroine | Living together first, falling in love later]
A new employee joins a neighborhood barbershop. Her eye for style is excellent, and her skills are first-rate, so many customers specifically ask her to do their hair.
The owner insists that staff chat with customers and sell membership cards while washing and cutting their hair.
One day, a customer asks Tang Shu where she learned her trade.
She can only smile and change the subject. She doesn't dare say she learned it in prison.
A blind man lives in Building Five. He visits the barbershop every two weeks, and only ever gets a short trim, never a styled cut.
Even though he can't see, Tang Shu never does a slapdash job.
Sometimes she gets so absorbed in cutting his hair that she happily asks him to look in the mirror: "Are you satisfied?"
Only after the words are out does she realize how inappropriate that was.
But Gu Hanzhou doesn't mind. He runs a hand over the ends of his hair and says with a smile, "I'm very satisfied. I can feel it with my hands."
Later, Gu Hanzhou becomes Tang Shu's landlord, and the two live under the same roof, treating each other with polite respect.
He gradually stops visiting the barbershop because Tang Shu tells him, "I can cut your hair at home while I'm at it, and we can save some money."
Yes, at home.
The cold house becomes a home for them both.
[Blurb for this novel]
[Disabled veteran and repairman x cheerful, outspoken beauty]
Jiang Leyang wakes up one morning in the body of a female textile mill worker in the 1980s, lying in the same bed as a strange man.
Her stepsister schemes to ruin her reputation, her parents try to sell her off for a hefty bride price, and a scumbag cheats her out of all her savings. But a disabled man she has met only once steps forward to help her, so the two register their marriage.
Being disabled isn't a problem, really. Her bargain husband is considerate, devoted to his family, reliable, and steady. Everything about him, from his features to his muscular build, is exactly her type. Jiang Leyang plans to make the first move, but never expects him to be such a pure-hearted straight man who blushes as soon as she flirts with him.
Lu Feng was discharged from the military because of an injury. His future was cut short, and he was left with a disability in his left leg. Both his parents are dead, and all he has at home is a younger brother. He makes a living running a repair shop, making him one of the most looked-down-upon self-employed people of the era.
All he had hoped for was to raise his younger brother. He never expected to marry and have children, but through a twist of fate, he ends up marrying a woman eight years younger than him.
He is always afraid of making Jiang Leyang suffer. Even after they marry, he doesn't dare cross the line. His inferiority and longing twist together in his heart, but Jiang Leyang keeps getting closer and closer, until she even asks him:
"Do you like me?"
"Why is your heart beating so fast?"
"Your leg isn't convenient. How about I get on top?"
Before Lu Feng joined the army, he never understood much. The military taught him responsibility and gave him ideals, so he could risk his life without hesitation on a mission. Unfortunately, his injury cut off his path forward.
He thought he would have to spend the rest of his life dragging his bad leg along, but Jiang Leyang helped him find new purpose and taught him to love himself and others.
[Upcoming novel]
Sentinel-Guide novel: The Rehabilitation Center for Injured Sentinels. A fan-favorite Guide x disabled Sentinels, with a strong female lead and an all-around romance. If you're interested, please bookmark it!
Reader notes:
1. An insecure, avoidant disabled male lead x an optimistic, independent, guiding female lead. Marriage first, love later. Eight-year age gap. Both are each other's first and only partner, and they dote on one another.
2. Set in a fictional 1980s. Please don't nitpick the historical details.
3. No golden finger, no grand ambitions. The heroine doesn't go into business, take the college entrance exam, or face-slap anyone. The hero's leg won't recover. This is a sweet, slice-of-life romance.
4. The hero has a younger brother, and there is a small amount of content about a secondary couple. They won't steal the spotlight, and their main purpose is to help the romance develop.
5. I'm a new author, but I have chapters prepared and will update steadily. If you enjoy it, please bookmark it!
Theme: When poor, cultivate yourself alone; when prosperous, help the world.
