Seven Days of Fireworks

Clear-headed, dazzling female lawyer x refined, untouchable Beijing big shot daddy

Eight years ago, on a rainy night in London.

With nowhere else to turn, Jian Chu knocked on the door of the man on the magazine cover.

A reckless seven-day arrangement: he bought her self-respect, and she took the money and disappeared without a trace.

Shen Yanzhou thought she was nothing but a vain gold digger.

Eight years later, they meet again in Beijing.

She is a sharp-edged M&A lawyer; he is a ruthless business tycoon.

Shen Yanzhou is her client, and her landlord.

Fate has locked them under the same roof once more.

She avoids him at every turn; he acts as if she does not exist.

He watches coldly as she "sells herself" to someone else for two million,

then corners her at home, sneering:

"After all these years, you're still doing this badly. So desperate you'll take anyone?"

Jian Chu offers no explanation. She grabs his tie and kisses him, delivering a stinging retort:

"Look closely, Mr. Shen. Now this is what it means to take anyone."

The most humiliating moments of Jian Chu's life were in front of Shen Yanzhou.

Her most glorious moments were in front of him, too.

Shen Yanzhou once tried to measure her worth in money, deeming her worthless.

Yet the proudest head he had ever held high was lowered only once in his life, and only in front of Jian Chu.

She runs, he chases. Weren't they supposed to pretend not to know each other if they ever met again?
