The Scumbag Rescue Plan

[A seemingly carefree, actually possessive-to-a-fault, obsessive top student and fake heartthrob seme x a single-minded, adorable, genuinely popular shou]

When Jiang Xing was little, he suffered a serious illness. After he recovered, a harem power fantasy novel appeared in his head, starring the son of his mother's best friend. It was a reverse harem, except the harem was all men.

And he was the male lead's most loyal childhood friend and underling. The closest he ever came to being included was the day the male lead slept with seven or eight people, including the driver and housekeeper, and didn't invite him. :)

Jiang Xing: Well, that's a relief.

But even if he was safe, now that he knew what was going on, there was no way he could just ignore it.

So Jiang Xing tried all sorts of ways to save the wayward (?) young man, until one day the male lead told him he had someone he liked.

Jiang Xing O.o: "Are you sure it's just one person...?"

"What do you mean?" The male lead frowned. "Didn't you know I like you? I thought we felt the same way."

Jiang Xing: "?"

Male lead: "Those articles from official accounts you sent me weren't hints that I should devote myself to you?"

Jiang Xing: I did mean you should devote yourself to someone, but I never said it had to be me!

Male lead: "Those PDFs about tearing cheating scumbags to shreds weren't a warning about what would happen if I cheated?"

Jiang Xing: It was a warning, but I wasn't the other person in that scenario!

Male lead: "I don't care. You're responsible for me."

Huo Linsheng: From the moment you dragged me out of an internet cafe in our middle school entrance exam year, you've been responsible for me for life.
