Top floor of the Port Mafia's five buildings.

"Mr. Mori, please pick better-looking targets for my next mission~ That old guy was so gross I couldn't stomach him!"

"There was no way I could take a bite~"

"A total loss! An absolute loss!"

"If you do this again, Mr. Mori, I'll report you for employing child labor~"

A clear, youthful voice rang out from the boss's office, dragging out its final syllables. The speaker's complaints were practically spilling over.

The man sitting across from him, wearing a red scarf, pressed his hands together and looked apologetic.

"Sorry, sorry, Kirishima. It won't happen again."

"Ever since Dazai left, the Port Mafia has been desperately short-staffed. It's giving me such a headache."

The boy called Kirishima puffed out his cheeks. He clearly didn't believe a word of it.

After all, wasn't Dazai's defection entirely Mr. Mori's own doing?

That was what Kirishima Haruka thought as he left the boss's office with a new assignment from Mori Ogai.

Behind him,

Mori Ogai watched the boy walk away. His smile faded, and a chill gradually settled over his dark red eyes.

The office lights were off. Mori Ogai walked to the window, where a huge pane of glass offered an unobstructed view of all Yokohama.

A ray of sunset streamed in through the window, but the corner where Mori Ogai stood remained untouched by the light.

A mind-control ability. Unexpectedly useful...

And dangerous, too.

What should he do with it?

**

Kirishima Haruka was an incubus who fed on human love.

But he was a picky eater.

No ugly ones.

Kirishima Haruka bit off a freshly cooked takoyaki and headed for his target's address.

He'd told them he didn't have an ability. Why wouldn't anyone believe him?

**

Inside a luxury hotel.

A balding office worker knelt on the floor, his eyes filled with adoration behind thick glasses.

"Haruka-chan! My muse! I'll do anything for you, even die! Aaaah!"

A refined-looking boy sat lazily on the marble bar counter, seemingly used to the scene before him.

Kirishima Haruka licked his ice cream and swung his jade-white legs idly in the air.

Hearing the office worker's words, he merely tilted his head, his gaze still fixed on the delicious ice cream.

"Really?"

"Then go ahead and die, uncle~"
