Coercion / Dark / Yandere
Xu Xiaocao was an utterly ordinary weed. But one year, lightning and fire struck a mountain, and a drop of immortal blood from the sky seeped into her roots.
She was granted a chance at cultivation. She sprouted, took human form, and followed a group of travelers to Cangshan to cultivate.
The sect leader was as radiant and noble as moonlight. She admired him at first sight.
She called him Master.
Master was cold and taciturn. But Xiaocao was a weed that feared the cold least of all.
She was born lowly and insignificant, and barely understood the rules. She could only study other people again and again, learning to smile, please, and act cute like a human.
At first, Master only looked at her impassively. Later, he stroked her hair, fed her spiritual food, taught her how to dress, and held her as they slept.
It was only natural that she fell in love with Master.
She said she liked Master’s clothes, so he stripped her naked and wrapped her in his own black robe, so large it swallowed her whole.
She said she liked Master’s eyes, so he gouged out a pair and soaked them in a glass jar, placing it by her bed.
The water in the jar was clear. The eyes stared at her without blinking, as if they were smiling.
She always thought Master was an immortal who would live forever, until one night, as they slept together, black energy like that of a demonic cultivator poured from his body, and countless hands grew from him.
Only then did Xiaocao discover in horror that he was not Master at all. A demon had possessed his body long ago.
That thing walked the world wearing human skin, practicing an evil art that promised immortality. It had taken her as its disciple only to extract the blood from her heart.
Xiaocao wanted to escape. But she couldn’t.
She had only recently gained sentience. Her roots were unstable and her skills poor. No matter which mountain or region she fled to, a pair of eyes always clung to her.
His black robe trailed along the ground, its hem running with blood. He strolled out of the darkness.
“My little weed, a little weed that trembles in the wind... Where could you possibly go without your Master?”
