Bai Lian transmigrated into a cultivation world from a book. Afraid of dying, she kept her head down in her sect and focused on leveling up, planning to reach invincibility before heading down the mountain to find a way home.
But the sect's resources were limited, and a place packed with sword cultivators was little better than a barren wasteland.
To make matters worse, half the mountain was overrun with demonic beasts.
Luckily, a System claiming it could turn her into a phoenix-like heroine came looking for her. All she had to do was complete sign-ins and missions, and it would give her spirit stones and resources.
After thinking it over, Bai Lian decided it sounded doable. She'd just treat it like a full-dive cultivation game where she only had one life.
At first, the missions were just simple daily cultivation: swing her sword two hundred times. The only real challenge was getting up early.
Back in college, she only had to get up for 8 a.m. classes. Now, as a sword cultivator, she had to make it to 6 a.m. practice.
Being a sword cultivator was exhausting, miserable, and broke. She couldn't go on living like this.
Bai Lian asked the System, "Can I switch majors? I want to study alchemy."
Those alchemy cultivators really were just a hair's breadth from reaching into her pockets and taking her money themselves!
[You can't switch. Your sect only offers a sword cultivation major, so it's a vocational college.] The System shrugged. [Take the Xuantian Sect next door. It's a comprehensive university. They have sect elders who specialize in alchemy, formations, body cultivation, and all kinds of other things. Their disciples can study whatever they want.]
"Then I'll transfer sects first."
[That would be called betraying your master. The entire cultivation world would despise you. Who would take you then?]
...Then she had no choice but to push the sect to get accredited as a university.
Let's look to the whole cultivation world, build a first-rate sect, and educate first-rate talent!
Bai Lian went out to gain experience. As she improved her cultivation, she also enthusiastically helped other sects solve their problems.
The Hehuan Sect's founder was worried about selling their products? Easy. The evil Pinduoduo could target budget shoppers, while luxury brand Hermes could rake in the high-end market.
What? They also wanted to boost the fame of the Hehuan Sect's Heartbreak House?
Easy. Team up with the artifact cultivators to develop recording stones, and show the cultivation world what group-streaming art really looks like.
(Currently at the Hehuan Sect arc. I'll add more to the blurb if I think of something fun to write next.)
Theme: You should be your own mountain.
