A Broken Branch

Money-hungry hunter heroine x scumbag nobleman hero

My scholar husband left.

He wasn't dead, and another woman hadn't lured him away.

He left me a letter saying he'd had enough of the constraints of a tedious marriage and was going to make a bright future for me.

He left me alone in the village, where everyone mocked me.

But that wasn't the worst of it.

Tonight, I'm about to meet my death.

And it's all because of the trouble he caused.

Right now, there's only one way to escape.

Before the sun sets completely, I take my bow and knife and head for the back mountain.

P.S.:

1. The main story is told in third person.

2. Neither lead is a virgin, and the ending is HE.
