Ying Yiren had escaped back to Qin, leaving Ying Zheng a natural target for Zhao's anger and retribution. He and his mother, Zhao Ji, kept fleeing to evade capture.

They had no decent clothes and barely enough to eat.

His mother, Zhao Ji, had fallen ill from exhaustion. Ying Zheng went out alone to gather firewood so they could survive the deadly winter.

But on this trip into the mountains, he met a young man who looked strangely familiar. The man bore a strong resemblance to him.

The young man was just as stunned when he saw Ying Zheng.

Their eyes met.

Fusu, in tears: "Father!"

Ying Zheng: ?

He slapped down Zhao's princes when they tried to bully him, traveled among the warring states, befriended scholars from across the land, and debated at Jixia Academy.

With a young Ying Zheng by his side, Fusu made a name for himself in the Warring States era.

Lord Xinling, Wei Wuji, smiling warmly: "Would you be willing to enter the service of Wei and become a marquis and minister?"

Li Si, lost in thought: "This boy has the makings of a king."

All six states offered Fusu the seals of high office, waiting outside his door.

Fusu opened it. Huh???

Ying Zheng was wary of this young man who had appeared out of nowhere. Strangely, however, he was far too affectionate toward him.

Sometimes, even Ying Zheng found himself unconsciously growing close to him.

Ying Zheng, stone-faced: I must be exhausted.

There was no way he would trust some stranger whose origins were unknown!

Until one day, he heard Fusu say:
