The biological father of movie star Lu Yan's dog has died, leaving him a pile of cash and houses, as well as a "personal assistant" named Lin Qiuping, a washed-up singer who changed careers.

1. The title comes from Faye Wong and Sandy Lam's song "Thanks to Him," meaning "thanks to him" or "because of him." Every chapter title is also a song title.
2. Lu Yan -> Lin Qiuping <- Gu Ning. The story follows these three shameless, calculating, obsessive, and unreasonable liars who can't bear to be apart.
3. An old-school, purist ABO story. Every character is extremely, extremely, extremely flawed and uncivilized. All characters are presumed to have exes. The story is lighthearted overall, but includes both sweetness and angst, emotional and physical. Happy ending.
