The White Shirt I Shouldn't Have Taken Off

Lian Li had been dating his boyfriend for three years.

His boyfriend had a close friend he'd known since childhood. The friend was supposedly so controlling that no one could stand him.

Lian Li didn't think so. In his eyes, the man was gentle and clean-cut, but almost forgettable.

At a party after high school graduation, he kissed the man's reddened ear and stripped off his refined white shirt.

Years later, on a vast, snowy night, he looked at the statue-like figure outside the window and finally understood what kind of person he'd provoked.

He would never escape again.

The first kind of people appeared by entering the wombs of pregnant women as parasites.

They replaced the unborn babies, then went on to devour their mothers.

To stop the invasion of these human-like creatures, the Bureau issued a decree: pregnancy was forbidden.

Some people inevitably disobeyed the order, so a special task force was formed to hunt down the creatures and find pregnant women.

Jiang Fu, the task force's first commander, was ruthless and never showed mercy. He had killed countless human-like creatures.

Until one day, he released every pregnant woman and betrayed all of humanity.

In the end, it was the task force's deputy commander, his own handpicked pupil, who personally killed the traitor.

Jiang Fu's body was beyond recognition, but the coroner discovered something that shouldn't have been there in his abdomen.

When the news spread, everyone was stunned.

·

Ever since receiving his diagnosis, the new commander had been unusually irritable.

He patrolled the city day and night, killing every human-like creature he could find, and neurotically asking everyone he met whether they'd had a thing with Jiang Fu.

Everyone at the Bureau lived in fear, keeping their heads down.

·

After killing the traitor, Rong Ji had the same scene appear in every dream.

His former superior stood in a collapsed building, surrounded by smoke and flames. He looked back at him.

Rong Ji had never seen Jiang Fu wear an expression like that.

It looked like hatred, and like vulnerability.

He didn't understand.

Not until three months later, when his younger brother

brought home a sickly, pale boyfriend who could barely walk without gasping for breath.
