The summer she was eight, Xie Chunhua followed her mother back to Xie Family Village for the first time. It was her first time in a village, and everything seemed old and dirty. She didn't like it there. It was nothing like the big city where she'd lived before. But her mother said she would have to live there with her grandmother from then on.
Her mother left the village that same summer, when Xie Chunhua was eight, leaving her alone to face a world that was completely unfamiliar.
On her first day at her new school, everyone disliked Xie Chunhua. Only one person would show up whenever she was bullied or secretly crying. Xie Chunhua didn't know him, but he seemed like a hero from a TV show, appearing whenever she was in trouble.
After that, whenever he appeared, Xie Chunhua would secretly watch him. Before she knew it, his figure had filled her thoughts.
At first, Xie Chunhua simply admired him and wanted to become like him. But when her first love blossomed, the beating of her heart told her there was more to it than that.
Later, her admiration for her hero became the courage that helped her grow.
