[Note: A middle-aged man's memoir]

I knew you were in poor health from the day we met. I also knew that being able to grow old together was already more than I could have asked for.

But accompanying you to and from the hospital, watching you grow weaker day by day until your final moment, still made me feel that this world was so unfair.

My darling, it's been three months since you left. I've started trying to write the memoir you asked me to.

Still, I don't know if this even counts as a memoir. I'll just write whatever comes to mind, to fill the time without you. I never expected anyone to read it.

But whenever I write, I think of you and our past, and it makes me feel a little happier. I think maybe that's why you wanted me to write this memoir.

Dedicated to you, my sun.

1. I really didn't know how to write a blurb, so to sum it up in one sentence: a middle-aged man's memoir.

2. The main story is a first-person memoir. Since the gong writes it, the story is told from his perspective, but the author doesn't favor any particular character or dynamic. The story and its needs come first. See Chapter Two for other notes.
