[Supernatural] Pining for Your Sister-in-Law Is Immoral

Fu Shuqiao died.

On her way to get a divorce.

The good news: She didn't quite die. She became a ghost.

The bad news: She can only roam within a limited area.

They say ghosts exist because someone misses them.

Could it be that her wife, who was so eager to divorce her, actually still loves her? Is she now trying to win her back after her death? Is that why Fu Shuqiao hasn't been reincarnated?

As a newly dead ghost, Fu Shuqiao has plenty of free time.

After investigating, she discovers that the one who misses her is her sister-in-law, Ren Er. Her newly widowed wife, meanwhile, has already found someone new.

Fu Shuqiao: "..." What a heartless woman.

Fu Shuqiao also discovers that her sister-in-law, who seems cool and self-possessed, often calls her name with deep affection late at night when no one else is around.

At first, Fu Shuqiao pretends not to hear.

Later...

Quiet. You're keeping a ghost from resting.

Fu Shuqiao decides to warn her sister-in-law: Pining after your sister-in-law is immoral, especially when she's already dead.

But her sister-in-law is a staunch materialist who doesn't believe in ghosts or spirits.

Fu Shuqiao visits her in a dream.

Her sister-in-law: You think about it during the day, so you dream about it at night.

Fu Shuqiao blows a cold wind at her from behind.

Her sister-in-law: My back feels chilly. Maybe I'm getting sick.

Fu Shuqiao leaves a message in her diary.

Her sister-in-law calls her therapist: Doctor, I think I might be losing my mind.

Fu Shuqiao: "..."

Fu Shuqiao can do nothing about it. All she can do is watch her sister-in-law miss her while talking to thin air, then refuse to believe she exists.

Until one day.

Her normally clear-headed, ghost-denying sister-in-law gets drunk and frantically searches the whole house for her. "Are you here? Pay attention to me."

Fu Shuqiao finally manages to take ghostly form.

She steps forward and hugs her tightly. "I'm here."

From the sister-in-law's perspective:

She fell in love with someone else's wife.

Before she ever had her, she had already lost her.

Pairing: Ghost sister-in-law x living sister-in-law

Happy ending. Same-sex marriage is legal in this setting.
