Those Years He Was Trapped Before the Emperor

[Coercive possession, pretty young guard on the receiving end x tyrannical emperor with a feudal mindset]

Lu Pengzhou entered the palace as an imperial guard when he was nineteen.

On his first day of duty, the new emperor returned from court in full regalia, surrounded by a grand procession. In front of all the eunuchs and palace maids, he stopped right in front of Lu Pengzhou, lifted his chin with the hilt of his sword, and asked his name.

Lu Pengzhou thought his family ancestors must have blessed him, and that his future would be smooth sailing.

He never expected to be summoned to the palace day after day, frightened half to death by the emperor's unpredictable moods.

He was afraid for his life and hid behind the palace hall while on duty for half a month... until His Majesty found him and gave him a furious scolding.

When his parents arranged a marriage for him at home, His Majesty found out and made him kneel for the entire afternoon.

Even when he exchanged a few words with a palace maid, His Majesty grabbed his wrist with a dark expression and demanded to know what they had talked about.

Until one day, Lu Pengzhou suddenly realized that the way His Majesty looked at him... wasn't the way an emperor looked at a subject.

He pretended to play along, planning to run away with his whole family.

He would never forget how, after the Lantern Festival, he suddenly received an imperial summons. He had no idea what awaited him when he walked into that secluded residence.

Again and again, he tried to break out of his cage, until at last he gave up hope completely.

In his fourth year serving the emperor, His Majesty suddenly came back holding a swaddled infant.

He asked, "Where did this baby come from?"

The emperor looked at him solemnly. "Of course it's the child you and I had together. You will be my empress."

Lu Pengzhou thought the emperor had gone completely mad.

That year, he finally escaped the palace.

On a rainy summer night, His Majesty sat astride his horse, holding the reins and looking down at him coldly. "You've certainly made me work to find you."

In the end, he still couldn't escape.
