Gao Jiudong spits out a mouthful of radiation-dusted saliva. He doesn't believe in fate, ghosts, or gods, much less some damn "soul bond." That is, until one day, on a surface contaminated by nuclear radiation, he kicks a warm body.
Beneath a shattered lens, a pair of beautiful black eyes stare fixedly at him. Pale fingertips still clutch half a moldy ration biscuit, and the eyes are filled with a frenzied will to survive and overwhelming indignation.
