The Jingchun Class took its name from a familiar saying. It was also the vision the old principal of the National Film Academy had for the country’s arts scene at the time: “One flower alone does not make spring; when a hundred flowers bloom, spring fills the garden.”
The National Film Academy was unquestionably the country’s top school for the performing arts. But in an environment where the good and the bad were all mixed together, people online no longer put their faith in authority. Everyone loved to mock and spin conspiracy theories about anything they could tear down.
And yet, paradoxically, almost everyone instinctively worshipped the prestige of elite schools, the super-rich, and prodigies.
Talent and capital remained the industry’s eternal tickets to success.
This was an era that could no longer produce superstars, an age of entertainment above all else! Yet the mainstream market still respected traditional film academies and was happy to entrust them with precious opportunities.
It was an experiment. In 2010, the Jingchun Class was born against this backdrop.
In 2017, Jing Ting died suddenly at the after-party on the day she received a lifetime achievement award for directing. She was reborn in a parallel world as the only daughter of the head teacher of the tenth Jingchun Class.
Given a second life, and having already enjoyed an exceptionally fulfilling career in her previous one, Jing Ting had lost all enthusiasm for making films and all desire to express herself. She took life as it came, content to enjoy her fresh start.
Thanks to an adult’s understanding, she accidentally “showed off” her genius and skipped grades, becoming a high school student in utter misery at the age of twelve...
Hold on! This isn’t the life she wanted. She’ll stop growing taller!
In 2030, thirteen-year-old Jing Ting rebelled and dropped out. Her mother kept her close and watched over her education, so Jing Ting ended up hanging around with the students in the acting department her mother ran.
She became their beloved little big sister, sidekick, friend, teacher, audience, and paparazzo...
She witnessed and took part in their dreams and youth.
At first glance, this group of beautiful, talented young people seemed dazzling...
Sometimes they were shallow, sometimes adorable;
some were foolish, some calculating, and some too stubborn to see the obvious;
most of the time, they were really good at getting on people’s nerves...
They were emotional and prone to going off the rails, and that was exactly what they were like in real life.
How could those with nothing but good looks discover the richness of their own souls?
How could those with just one particular talent find their place and put it to good use?
How could those who had gone astray learn to let go instead of wearing themselves down?
They would accompany one another and grow together.
In the end, Jing Ting would rediscover her love for film through these friends, who were daring to make their way into the entertainment industry. She would pick up the camera again, frame her shots, and polish these raw gems into something that could make even the most discerning director’s heart race and inspiration surge.
A group of people, working hard together to tell good stories on the silver screen.
Theme: A beautiful youth, full of promise.
