Protagonist: Li Bao, who accidentally transmigrates and is forced to play political games and build a career to survive.
Main supporting cast: An ambitious princess from the Western Yi who schemes for power; a spirit medium who claims to be a god, using relics left behind by an ancestor who transmigrated; and a minister's daughter who knows the current emperor's secrets and plans to use them to rise to power.
All the main characters are women.
Li Bao transmigrates to a strange world, and a mechanical voice rings above her head: "Host, because you have had 180 generations of legitimate descendants in your family, this System is bound to you."
Li Bao: "I refuse to be bound!"
System: "Refusal denied!"
The next day, Li Bao is walking down the road when a servant from the Marquis's residence shoves her to the ground. As she fumes, the System says: "That servant is a concubine-born son. Host, you can sell him off directly!"
Li Bao: "???"
System: "That's right, you heard me. Host, as long as you accumulate enough Legitimate Lineage points, you can sell off any concubine-born person!"
Zhang the Butcher, who shortchanges customers and then turns around to blame them, is concubine-born. Sell him off! The young master who throws his weight around is concubine-born. Sell him off! The Marquis who lets his cruel servants prey on the common people is concubine-born. Sell him off! The regent who holds power over the entire court is concubine-born. Sell him off! The prince of an enemy state is concubine-born...
Looking at Li Bao in her imperial robes, the System trembles. "If you sell them all off, you won't be able to sell me off anymore, okay?"
A mystery-focused blurb related to the main plot
A light breeze blows, and Li Bao feels a chill. Where did the words in the corner of the wall that look suspiciously like English letters come from?
What are the so-called visitors from beyond the heavens and the immortals' guts mentioned in the damaged scroll?
And why does the ribbon in the late emperor's portrait have dots and dashes that look like Morse code?
Why is this world so meticulous and yet so insane? Has it always been this way, or is there another reason?
Reader's Guide: About a quarter of this novel is mystery and deduction. Aside from the ability to sell people off and make money from it, the golden finger isn't especially powerful. The story mainly relies on the heroine's intelligence and talent. It takes place in a fictional ancient setting, just before a chaotic era when the political situation is volatile, internal strife and external threats abound, and people's lives are difficult, but a fragile stability remains. The setting combines the best of various ancient-style "invented feudal ethics" and "open, free ancient societies." As the blurb suggests, the plot gets very, very crazy.

By your human reckoning, I'm 532 years old this year.
I inherited this Taoist temple from the first priest who lived here, along with the people who have since left the faith or grown old. Several generations of them have come and gone.
