Becoming the World's Number One Mid Laner

To improve his results, Ling Mengjun took a pay cut to join Team TFO. But in a year, they finished second twice, got swept in the World Championship quarterfinals, and were told to swim home.

When the documentary aired, public opinion exploded. In the video, everyone was comforting him and coaxing him to keep playing.

In an instant, he became the assassin with an incurable condition, the big-match choker, and a pretty-boy eye-candy with nothing but good looks, a nobody on the roadside.

During the transfer period, the jungler and support left, the top laner wavered, and the ADC planned to retire. With no fresh talent coming up, the club prepared to give up, and Ling Mengjun became the crown prince in name and deed.

But after the manager's relentless negotiations, the top laner stayed, they brought in Xu Zhao, the league's number-one jungler, along with an even better coaching and training staff, and attracted a champion support. It seemed everything was getting better.

But after losing a minor tournament at year's end, fans grew doubtful. The team stumbled through the first split but came out on top, giving fans hope again. Then they suffered a crushing defeat at the first split's world tournament, and were thoroughly reduced to domestic champions who couldn't compete internationally.

The whole region was shrouded in gloom, and esports fans lost faith in it.

So, can they win the championship at this year's S Championship?

This story is dedicated to my favorite team and my favorite ADC. I hope I get to see them win a championship once.
