#System-Driven Infrastructure #College Student Transmigrates to Another World #Magic City-Building Game
When medical student An Fei crouched by the city wall with a bowl of beef-topped rice, he finally realized he'd transmigrated into Glory City, the massive infrastructure-building simulation game he'd played all night. That is, if the game had a nightmare mode with "3,000 gold coins in debt from the start + a drafty city wall + fleeing citizens."
Just then, a green-glowing System interface popped up:
[City-Building System 2.0 loaded successfully]
[Newbie quest: Repair the city wall (0/1)]
[Reward: 10 wheat seeds]
"This is even more absurd than my calculus class!" An Fei clutched the only warm meal he had and angrily kicked a crumbling brick out of the wall. To his surprise, a shoddy black magic stone fell from the gap between the rubble.
That night, a wonder lit up the northern wasteland. A medical student used a magic stone to rebuild the defensive formation, trapping the beast tide outside the battered city walls. After who knew how many earth lizards crashed into the suddenly bulging wall, the magical beasts spent the night drafting a request to migrate.
Later...
"City Lord, the dwarves want to trade their forging skills for a super-sized wine cellar!"
An Fei picked up his fountain pen and wrote down a new five-year plan. "Tell them I can build a one-of-a-kind wine cellar for them, but they'll have to pay me a patent fee."
And so, a magical civilization that had been slowly falling asleep was hit with a dimensional downgrade:
The elf elders stared in shock at The Five-Year Spellcasting Plan, Three Years of Practice, which could print tens of thousands of copies a day;
Shadow Clan assassins crouched on reinforced-concrete beams, holding mass-produced mithril daggers and questioning their lives;
And An Fei was directing gargoyles as they installed solar panels. "Pay attention! From now on, this is how the whole city will generate electricity!"
When the twin moons' paths first crossed above Frostmoon City, the continent's chroniclers trembled as they recorded:
[The Emerald Era] had officially begun.
√ Invented a magic-powered 5G base station (with signal coverage reaching the Abyss)
√ Built cross-species vending machines (supporting two-way exchange between dragon crystals and online gold coins)
√ Enacted the Continental Infrastructure Qualification Certification Regulations (beastfolk have an absolute advantage in passing the exams)
It is said that during the reign of An Fei, Lord of the Era, he was best known by three names:
[Lord of Glory City, Frostmoon City]
[The "God of Urban Planning" of another world, but a college student on the run]
[The culprit who built twelve legendary magic towers and ultimately drove every archmage mad]
That first city-wall brick, cracked like a spiderweb, is now displayed in the brand-new History Museum. Its caption was kindly supplied by the spectators in the comments:
"Thanks to the anonymous bro who sent us a beast tide! Without that assist, our city lord would still be crouching by the wall eating beef-topped rice!"
Theme: Strive ever onward.
