Suzuki Sonoko has a sickly twin brother.
Though she believes she's the older sibling, the other one refuses to listen and keeps calling her “little sister.” What can she do?
Miss Suzuki has wisely decided not to stoop to arguing with a handsome guy!
Suzuki Kaoru is a twenty-four-hour-a-day, no-days-off ultimate warrior who goes to school by day and works in Yokohama by night. He's a siscon “just a little,” and his greatest dream in life is to get one full night's sleep.
Why? His ability, A Dream Within a Dream, makes his consciousness attach itself to his ability whenever he falls asleep, and the ability takes him to a random location in Yokohama. The good news is that, in this state, everything really is like a dream: his words become reality, and whatever he wishes for comes true. The bad news is that even if he dies, he immediately respawns instead of returning to his body and finally getting some sleep.
So while Suzuki Kaoru's body gets plenty of rest, his mind remains exhausted.
Eventually, Suzuki Kaoru gives up and starts looking all over Yokohama for somewhere he can sleep in peace. Can't find a place? Then he'll clear out a quiet spot himself.
Later, he meets Dazai Osamu.
Scene One:
Dazai Osamu is in the middle of hanging himself when he sees Suzuki Kaoru walking over.
“Don't interfere, Kaoru.”
He even taunts him: “I deliberately chose the tallest tree around. You can't reach me. Hahahahaha!”
Suzuki Kaoru says nothing and brings over a chair.
Dazai Osamu: “Using props is cheating.”
Suzuki Kaoru climbs onto the chair.
As the suffocation makes Dazai's face grow increasingly blue, he still manages to speak haltingly: “Oh, so... this is what... the River of Three Crossings... looks like...”
At last, Suzuki Kaoru speaks: “Dazai, wait a little longer before you die.”
“I don't know if your ability will still work after you die, so let me use it first.”
Scene Two:
One day, after messing with a young detective and a group of police officers, Kaito Kid is on top of a clock tower, inspecting a jewel in the moonlight, when he suddenly feels a cold, cylindrical metal object pressed against his waist. A clear voice comes from behind him:
“Mr. Phantom Thief, I heard you landed on my sister's bedroom balcony in the middle of the night a few days ago?”
With that reminder, Kaito easily identifies the owner of the voice. Before he can explain, the other person continues: “You saw my adorable little sister in her pajamas...”
Suzuki Kaoru tosses aside his toy gun and swings an antique cane he grabbed from home.
“I'll kill you, you pervert!”
