[My next book is coming soon. If you're interested, please follow!]
Reincarnated as a sentinel in the future world? No, no. A cute, soft girl like Yunyang-chan should be a guide!
*
Eldritch spiritual entities invade minds. Disasters strike, outer gods run rampant, and the Old Ones descend from their altars. The Shelter Towers fall apart, and human civilization teeters on the brink of collapse.
Sentinels suffer mental breakdowns and are on the verge of extinction. Guides are frail and have nowhere left to turn.
Lin Yunyang thinks something's wrong, because she's a sentinel, too.
Identity: F-rank sentinel
Affiliation: Lindong Base
Psychic entity: identified as [Shensha]
(System: [Shensha] comes from the Five Elements and Four Pillars of Destiny in Chinese civilization on Earth. It's dazzling and all-encompassing. No one has ever used it, but it sounds really impressive...)
Lin Yunyang: ??? This can't be right, can it?
Lin Yunyang: Um... can I apply to switch to a guide identity?

[Mission 1] Save Lindong Base, save the sentinels, save the guides.
Lin Yunyang opened her eyes to find herself transported into Lindong Base, a place like a junkyard. The guides had suffered heavy casualties, the sentinels were out of control, and the outer gods' minions were tearing open the sky to invade!
Teammates: 0.1% health
Teammates' status: heavy casualties...
Enemies: N+1% health
Enemies' status: Raging BUFF...
Mutated minions that could crush her with a flick of their fingers kept coming, and it was a blessing if her teammates didn't hold her back!
To stay alive, Lin Yunyang could only grit her teeth and use [Shensha]... to summon animals formed from psychic energy...
Huh? Huh? Lin Yunyang's face: QvQ
Psychic entity: [Shensha - Auspicious Deities]
Psychic energy manifestations:
[Tianyi Nobleman: Rescues from danger and misfortune]
[Taiji Nobleman: Turns misfortune into good fortune]
[General Star: Explosive fighting spirit, absolute leadership]
These don't seem like animals...?
Lin Yunyang became a hero for saving humanity from disaster!
[Mission 2] Repair the sentinels' mental worlds at Lindong Base...
[Shensha - Support: Heavenly Doctor restores the injured and the base]
[Complete!]
[Mission 3] Restore the guides' morale at Lindong Base...
[Shensha - Support: Red Phoenix builds strong bonds between sentinels and guides]
[Complete!]
Missions are a piece of cake! She's invincible, even at F-rank!
*
[Mission N]: Save Linxi Base, unite the sentinels and guides, and resist the outer gods' invasion.
Lin Yunyang: Easy. Watch me summon Shensha!
Psychic entity: [Shensha - Inauspicious Deities]
Psychic energy manifestations:
[Calamity Sha: Sudden disaster]
[Lonely Star: Poor social connections]
[Yin-Yang Mishap: Plans go awry...?]
[Shensha] doesn't only bring good fortune. It can also bring great danger!
Lin Yunyang hit a snag: all the effects were negative BUFFs, and they all hit her teammates. The whole team was wiped out, and humanity suffered another devastating blow!
[Mission N failed: Cause - Linxi Base wiped out]
Sentinels and guides surrounded Lin Yunyang and challenged her:
"You don't need a guide, your psychic entity is powerful, and most importantly, your rating is only F-rank."
"Are you a spy sent by the outer gods or the rulers?"
Lin Yunyang's face: ??? Is this right? I'm the great hero who saved you from a living hell!
[System Alert: Hidden mission triggered]
[Identity: Arbiter, Worldwalker, Unmoored Spirit...]
[Analysis: You neither worship chaos nor blindly follow order. Your sole principle is to define good and evil from your own perspective...]
[You are a being whom the Old Ones, the Ancient Gods, and even humanity all want to win over, yet deeply fear...]
