[Note] A 50/50 blend of plot and romance, written mainly for practice.
In her previous life, the helpless daughter of a concubine, Xie Shao, was left utterly alone. Her entire clan was executed, and she died an innocent death. First, her face was disfigured and her hands and feet severed. Then she was abused by the servants of a treacherous minister, before her treasonous legitimate elder sister used her as a scapegoat. At last, she died on an early spring day, reviled by thousands.
Even after her head was cut off, people fought over the warm blood in her neck to dip their steamed buns in.
Xie Shao could only lament her rotten luck. So this was what they called the "tragic-novel villainess"?
By a twist of fate, she gets another chance at life, and vows to make her enemies pay in blood.
Her wicked, heartless elder sister, who hides evil intentions, wants to use the same old trick to take her life. Her hypocritical elder brother offers her a cup of drugged wine, hoping to use her as a stepping stone to power and prestige. A sinister, treacherous minister fails to win her hand despite offering a fortune, and then tries to send her to the frontier, where slaves can defile and humiliate her as they please.
Xie Shao raises her eyes and sneers. "An eye for an eye? That's not enough, is it?"
But the prince, who was merely an acquaintance of hers in her previous life, appears before her, proudly wielding a spear and riding a fiery steed. "Overturning the world and turning heaven and earth upside down? That'll be a piece of cake!"
"But, Shaoshao, when are you going to marry me?"
Xie Shao: "W-where did this rotten peach blossom come from?"
Yanyue: "It's not rotten, it's not! Anything that's yours is wonderful!"
