[Hunter X Hunter] Pain Sensitivity Syndrome

[According to regulations, even if a story has no CP in the ending, it must be placed in the romance category if it contains a romantic plotline.]

* I am much luckier than most people with butterfly disease.

In scientific terms, it's epidermolysis bullosa.

A tiny injury to my fragile skin or mucous membranes can cause blisters and blood blisters. My body is like fragile butterfly wings, shedding a flutter of scales.

Unlike other children, my fingers and toes aren't fused together. My eyes and eyelids don't stick together after I sleep. Blisters don't form between my skin and muscles, burst, and then form again. I have no deformities, and even the dense scars covering my body fade quickly.

The children in the ward envy me. They wish me well, saying I must get better and see more of the outside world for them.

*Perhaps being too lucky is something you have to pay for.

The black-haired boy straddles me, excitedly cutting into my skin and pressing on the blood blisters on my mucous membranes. My miserable state seems to please him immensely.

"Don't worry. I'll have you reunited with them soon."

I rage. I scream. I cry.

*I wish I weren't so lucky.

Mom, it hurts so much. I want to fly.

To a place filled with light.
