When Will My Wife Love Me? [Matriarchy]

I'm currently thinking about expanding this into a full-length novel. If you're interested, you can save it to your favorites from my author page.

This is the second short story set in a matriarchal world.

Blurb One

Jiang Duo's wife never flirts with other men. She always listens to him, and whenever she comes home from a trip, she brings him a gift.

But Jiang Duo knows she doesn't love him.

He is a promise she made to her mother, a responsibility. He tries everything he can to seduce her, hoping she'll like him even a little, but he fails.

Then one day, she comes home smelling of another man's makeup powder.

Jiang Duo knows it's all over.

A very, very short story, with a faithful couple and a happy ending.

Blurb Two

By a twist of fate, Chen Mei really did marry the person she'd loved since childhood.

In this dynasty, people value scholarship, but she's a warrior, clumsy with words and with few friends. She can't make her melancholy husband smile through his tears, and instead often upsets him.

All she can do is work as hard as she can to earn money, hoping to imitate his late parents and give him the most comfortable life possible.

But he still cries. Even while carrying their child, he refuses to speak to her at all.

Chen Mei thinks it's probably all over.
