He's Just a Boring Beta

Omega pretending to be an Alpha | Alpha pretending to be a Beta

Lian Rui has been looking for a roommate lately, preferably another Beta like him.

A few days later, he accidentally crashed his electric scooter into Ying Chen, the most popular Alpha in the department.

And just like that, he had a roommate.

He had expected an Alpha to be troublesome, but Ying Chen turned out to be remarkably easy to live with. He never brought strangers home without asking, kept things clean, and occasionally did the housework and cooked.

Most importantly, Ying Chen never casually released that obnoxious Alpha pheromone.

Lian Rui thought that must be why Ying Chen was so popular. The little things showed what kind of person you were.

By comparison, Lian Rui was pretty ordinary. His classmates thought he was antisocial and kept to himself. Apart from class, they hardly ever saw him, and although he was handsome, he somehow gave people the impression that he was a turnoff.

In short, he was boring.

Once Ying Chen came along, Lian Rui finally seemed more alive. The two often went to and from school together, and their relationship grew closer and closer.

It was the first time Lian Rui had fallen for an Alpha, and he agonized over it for ages.

At a club gathering, Ying Chen happily drank too much. Lian Rui decided to take advantage of his drunken state and rehearse confessing to him in advance.

Ying Chen opened his eyes at some point.

"I like you too."

"But there's something I've been hiding from you."

Then a sweet, fresh omega pheromone filled the air.

Lian Rui stood there, stunned, wondering if there was something wrong with his sense of smell.

Shouldn't that be Alpha pheromones?

Ying Chen's face flushed red. Breaking the silence in a low voice, he said, "Um, your Alpha pheromones seem to be coming out too."
