The Fake Playboy

Because of a hidden physical condition, the Earl of Langstone, Christian, has long been considered London's most eligible bachelor. But marriage is the furthest thing from his mind, and he avoids women like the plague.

So, in order to escape the ladies who spend all day trying to sell him their daughters while still keeping his manly reputation intact, he struggles to find a solution. In the end, he can only pose as a rake, flirt with the most vain women to make sure they'll exaggerate everything, and take a mistress, then go to bed alone every night.

But now the only woman he can trust has found true love of her own and decided to leave him. He's faced with the dilemma of finding another "mistress."

The problem gives him a headache, and just when he doesn't know what to do, he hears from a friend that the woman he quietly fell for as a young man has also lost her lover.

His heart stirs, but he fights it with all his might. No, he can't. Lady Penelope is far too attractive and far too clever. She could never be the right choice.

So he only helps her with a little problem because he can't stand to see her suffer. He only dances one meaningless waltz with her. He only becomes the most innocent of friends with her. He only shares an utterly pure kiss of friendship with her...

He struggles with his feelings until one day his beautiful friend says to him:

"Blindfold me, Christian."

Lady Penelope Caldwell x Christian, Earl of Langstone

One-on-one romance. The female lead has previous partners; the male lead has not.

The female lead is eleven years older than the male lead. She is a noble-born socialite who was once married and has a child.

Set in an alternate nineteenth century.

P.S. The male lead's physical condition isn't really important. His psychological trauma is mainly because of his father. The female lead will find out later, and then everyone will know. I don't think it's hard to guess, and it really doesn't affect his abilities in any way.

P.P.S. This story is extremely melodramatic and very simple.

Updates daily at 6 p.m.

Theme: True love means letting go of your insecurities and prejudices and facing each other as you really are.
