I'm on Vacation, Yet Somehow I'm a Doctor in a Paranormal World

On the first day of her vacation, Jiang Lai goes out to eat with her best friend. After trying the full assortment of mushrooms, she's bundled off to a matchmaking corner.

"They're all high-quality men!" her friend promises confidently.

But when Jiang Lai arrives, she realizes that something seems a little off about the "people" here.

Matchmaking Man No. 1 has a third eye on the back of his head. "You're a doctor? Things always look doubled on this side."

Jiang Lai hands him a face mask. "Wear it on the back of your head."

Matchmaking Man No. 2 has eight tentacles growing from his hands, twitching wildly. "Doctor, I think I'm having a seizure!"

Jiang Lai grips a pair of scissors. Snip, snip, snip. "Let's cauterize it over a fire to stop the bleeding, and let other people have a taste while we're at it."

Female Guest No. 3 is covered in mushrooms. "Doctor, I keep having hallucinations..."

Jiang Lai takes out a spray bottle of alcohol. "Disinfect it, dry it, then simmer it into soup. Make sure it's cooked through."

At first, Jiang Lai thinks the mushrooms she ate are causing hallucinations. She never expects the whole world to be mutating.

Blood-soaked vines crawl across the walls of buildings, the neighbor's child has three heads and six arms, and tentacles poke out of the TV host's eye sockets...

Even Jiang Lai's right hand begins to mutate.

[Ding! The Divine Doctor System has been activated.]

[In an unremarkable little corner stands a general practice clinic. Its dim, yellow light gives off an irresistibly healing feeling.]

[Initial mission: Open a clinic.]

[Mission reward: A healing right hand.]

Jiang Lai: "..."

She looks at her pitch-black right hand, which looks like a black donkey hoof. Take it outside and it could ward off evil spirits. And this is supposed to be healing?

Later, the eerie world gains a "miracle doctor."

"Doctor, my head keeps falling off."

"I've sewn it back on and glued it in place for you."

"Doctor, my insides keep going thump, thump, thump. They're so noisy I can't sleep."

"I've filled you with cement. Guaranteed to keep things quiet."

"Doctor, I... have fallen in love with you."

"There's no saving you. Carry them out. Next."

Leaning against the clinic doorway, Jiang Lai holds a bouquet made of black and red pens and gazes with satisfaction at the banner the eerie creatures have given her:

"Miracle doctor with magic hands, treats everything, and absolutely won't let you die."
