This Spring's Morning Dew (Shuhong X Kaizhi Couple)

A military carriage on the move, early morning

Several pairs of brand-new leather shoes sat side by side. The cavalrymen's cheerful conversation drifted out from inside the carriage.

"What kind of man is the newly appointed commander of the Sixth Division?"

"Hard to say."

"Is he married?"

"I haven't heard."

Under the dim yellow lamplight, the newly appointed commander of the Sixth Division was writing a love letter to his beloved.

"My dear Shu Hong: I first saw you aboard the ship bound for Japan. You were dressed in pale jade-green, and your glossy black braid trapped me like a ball of fire. At the time, I couldn't help thinking how astonishingly vast this world is. How could it have given rise to a young woman like you? One glance was all it took for me to fall helplessly in love."
