In Conclusion, Beta Is Adorable

Song Xun is a background NPC in a campus Omegaverse romance. She appears only once in the entire story, and her sole purpose is to accidentally break the love interest's umbrella, setting up the perfect encounter between the love interest and the protagonist. In other words, she's a plot device.

Compared to everyone else in the story, she's almost painfully ordinary. She's always mild and unassuming, and seems slow to notice changes in the world around her.

After Song Xun becomes self-aware, her first goal is to become the top student in her grade. Her steadily improving scores make her a little more noticeable.

The plot continues to unfold. On the day Song Xun breaks the umbrella, Lin Yingcai sees her classmate's face clearly for the first time.

Faint gray light filters through the glass window and falls on the damp, chilly corridor. The beautiful, fragile Omega looks down at Song Xun, her dark eyes fixed on her. She folds her arms and speaks in an unpleasant tone.

“You awful, wretched Beta! Do you know how important this umbrella is to me? You'd better think about how you're going to make it up to me.”
