Just back from abroad, Xia Moran was begged by her friend to switch identities and go on a blind date in her place.
She thought it would be a simple formality, nothing to worry about. But when she opened the private room door, she found two men inside.
One looked like a playboy; the other was aloof and laid-back.
The playboy was her blind date. He smiled at Xia Moran with eager warmth and took good care of her, clearly trying to win her over.
The other man wore casual clothes and barely spoke. His expression was faint, and he lounged lazily on the sofa as if he had nothing to do with the gathering. Yet beneath those cool brows, his eyes were dark and cold, and whenever he glanced her way, they brimmed with aggression.
Xia Moran's back stiffened. She forced herself to smile and make polite conversation, checking the time over and over.
A plate of strawberry salad was placed in front of Xia Moran. Her blind date smiled and invited her to try some. Then the man who had been silent for so long suddenly spoke in a chilling voice.
“She is allergic to strawberries.”
His words stunned everyone.

Back in college, Xia Moran and Xiao Yuanqin had been together for a while.
Back then, Xiao Yuanqin was arrogant and untamed, dazzlingly carefree, and the object of many girls' affections.
Yet all his pride had crumbled before Xia Moran.
Because of her family, Xia Moran had never believed in love. When the proud young master pursued her, she didn't think he was sincere.
So, treating it as a bit of fun, she had one reckless fling with him, then deleted every way to contact her and left the country alone.
Proud as he was, Xiao Yuanqin crushed the roses he had arranged himself beneath his feet and gave a long, cold laugh.

After the blind date, Xia Moran went out of her way to avoid Xiao Yuanqin.
After much effort, she finally received an offer from one of the country's top architectural design firms. But on her first day at work, she accidentally ran into Xiao Yuanqin.
Only when he steadied her by the waist did she learn that he was her biggest boss.
Later, Xia Moran accompanied Xiao Yuanqin on a business trip. In a torrential downpour, the two of them were stranded on a remote mountain road.
The car rocked as if it were at sea. Damp air filled the cabin, and a spring tide was gathering, secretive and surging.
Xia Moran was pinned against her seat, her struggling fingerprints clearly imprinted on the window.
Her skirt was in disarray. Her voice trembled faintly. “You went to all this trouble to weave such a huge web just to get revenge on me, didn't you?”
The man leaned over, hidden in the shadows. He gripped her wrist, his breath brushing her neck, his repressed passion nearly out of control.
“Yes.”
“You won't escape my grasp a second time.”
She thought he was a fleeting dream, not knowing that he regarded her as the ideal of his life, and that everything he had done was for her.
