The Princess and the Mad Dog

At the founding of the dynasty, the emperor dies, and the young crown prince ascends the throne. His elder sister, Princess Regent Jiarong, takes his place in governing the state.

After three years of regency, Princess Regent Jiarong rules with ruthless resolve, holding down every faction and finally securing the dynasty's throne.

Later, when the emperor takes power himself, Princess Regent Jiarong refuses to return it. After losing the struggle for power, she takes her own life outside the palace gates.

When Jiarong opens her eyes again, it is just as the emperor begins to show signs of taking power himself.

His first move against her is to arrange her marriage, betrothing her to a lowborn general who used to be a stable hand. A princess of the dynasty, born to wealth and privilege, is to be cast into the mud.

And the general in question currently can't stand the sight of her, just as she can't stand him.

The emperor has decreed the marriage. As the eldest princess, she cannot defy his command or utter a word of protest, not if she wants to preserve the majesty of the dynasty that she fought so hard to secure.

The marriage is a mess, but she has no choice but to swallow the bitterness.

Jiarong watches her husband step into the bridal chamber, kicks off her phoenix slippers inlaid with pearls, and raises her phoenix eyes. "Lick."
