Who Are You Calling the White Moonlight?

Back when Yuan Jiangye was in school, there was someone he couldn't stop thinking about.

It began with a pretty face, deepened with good grades, and ended at graduation.

It could hardly be called first love. He was like a mayfly floundering in the dirt, once dreaming of the bright moon before his life ended.

The moon hung high in the sky and in his imagination. It never truly shone down upon his heart.

Years later, Yuan Jiangye quit his job and used his savings to open a small bookstore in his hometown. Next door stood the county's key high school. The old workhorse watched the teenagers live through their earnest, passionate youth, trying to heal the old wounds left by years of hard work.

He thought he'd spend the rest of his life muddling along, waiting for death.

That is, until one rainy day, when a teacher who had forgotten his umbrella pushed open the bookstore's glass door.

Mu Fusheng had a beloved person who lived on his lips and in his heart.

But Mu Fusheng's beloved was like a ghost: everyone knew about him, but no one had ever seen him.

They only saw the aloof, taciturn science whiz study education, then take a teaching job in a small city right after graduation. He spent five years there, enduring an ascetic existence like a traveler crossing a wasteland among unruly, rebellious students.

One day, the heavens smiled on him and sent a rainstorm called Reunion After a Long Separation.

He pushed open the door of a new shop on the street and looked up, meeting the owner's deep gaze.

The mayfly, living from dawn to dusk, entered a new rainy season.

The solitary traveler, who had walked alone, finally embraced the moonlight.
