At first: Struggling female tutor vs. rebellious young master
Later: Overworked corporate warrior woman vs. sick, evil capitalist boss
Volume One:
As a private tutor with an excellent reputation, Cheng Jing is determined to steer Gu Liu Chen, the wastrel young master who always ranks dead last, onto the broad path of “study hard and improve every day.” Unfortunately, he’s cold, unruly, and always going against her.
After plenty of clashes of wit and will, she finally manages to pull the wayward young master back onto the right track. But at some point, the way he looks at her grows deeper and more intense, leaving her flustered and uneasy...
When Gu Liu Chen believes life is lonely and bleak, with nothing left to look forward to, Cheng Jing shines into his world like a fierce beam of light. At first he hates and resents her, making things difficult for her at every turn, but she remains calm and unafraid. Later, he holds her in his hands and treasures her in his heart, treating her with the utmost care for fear his burning feelings might scare her away.
Just as he thinks everything is finally looking up, Cheng Jing suddenly decides to leave for a distant place. He begs her desperately and races through a snowy night, but not only can he not catch up with her, he ends up covered in injuries...
Volume Two:
When they meet again, Gu Liu Chen is a powerful man and a rising star, a client no one can afford to offend. Cheng Jing is a renowned career powerhouse, a woman of steel at work. She’s dazzling in public, but behind the scenes she’s the subject of endless gossip.
Colleague A: That was terrifying! Every time Ms. Cheng gets angry, it feels like she takes half your life!
Colleague B: Tsk, tsk. Must be menopause! She’s only thirty, but already a faded beauty!
“Shh!”
Colleague A: What are you afraid of? She’s a career woman, all right. She probably wishes everyone would die at their desks just like her!
Colleague C: Career woman, my foot! If she hadn’t latched onto Chairman Mu... Hmph!
Six years have passed. Cheng Jing has been tempered by countless trials and become as unshakable as steel, with a heart like a still well. That is, until Gu Liu Chen suddenly grabs her by the throat outside the dressing room and murmurs, “Teacher Cheng, you look especially charming and radiant tonight...”

Reader's Guide:
1. A slow burn. The first half brushes against campus life; the second half brushes against workplace romance.
2. One-on-one, both leads have only ever been with each other. Angsty and melodramatic, but only mildly.
3. The male lead has issues, both physical and psychological, but they stay within an acceptable range.
4. The whole novel is nearly complete. Read with confidence.
5. Updates daily or every other day. On days between updates, I’ll post a notice in the author’s notes.
Theme: Hardship will eventually give way to sweetness
