A sweet-on-the-outside, dark-on-the-inside heroine, frail but absolutely not weak!
Kamui pairing
[Blurb]
The Harusame's Seventh Division receives a rescue mission. Their target is Chinatsu, a Night-Yato healer with an incredibly powerful regenerative technique.
They say that as long as she's there, even someone with only one breath left can be dragged back from the gates of death and restored to full health!
In the dim hold of a spaceship,
a girl lay bound hand and foot on the shadowy deck, limp and helpless as a dead fish.
She was frail and pale, with incomparable beauty, like a bubble in the sunlight. The slightest touch seemed as though it might freeze her at the brink of shattering.
But she was so fragile that Abuto hesitated after finding the rabbit. Was this really a Night-Yato, a species famed for combat and bloodlust?
Impatient with his dithering, Kamui strode over and grabbed Chinatsu by the hair. "Hey! You little brat, quit sleeping. I'm here to rescue you!"
Chinatsu lifted her eyelids, then promptly passed out.
Abuto: !!!
Abuto: Kamui, quick, let her go! She's a little bit dead!
*
The good news: the rabbit didn't die. She's alive and well!
The bad news: she holds a grudge, and has started treating Kamui and the Seventh Division like dogs!
Chinatsu loves cooking and often makes porridge all by herself, going "heave-ho, heave-ho."
Kamui follows the delicious smell over. Chinatsu glances at him, sticks a finger up his nostril, then flicks the booger she digs out straight into the pot.
Kamui: ...Don't think I won't kill you just because you're a woman!
Chinatsu shoves a spoonful of porridge into his mouth. "Hungry? Have something to eat."
Kamui: *munch munch munch*
Abuto, eyes wide with shock: Is this right, Kamui...?
*
Chinatsu: Kamui, want to play a game? I know a fun one where we take turns slapping each other!
Kamui gives her a scornful look. "With you?"
Chinatsu shakes her head. "With Abuto! I can be the referee!"
Kamui: Sounds like a great idea!
Abuto: That's a terrible idea!
*
As they spend time together, Abuto realizes that Chinatsu isn't nearly as dangerous as her mission ranking suggests. She's just like an ordinary, physically frail girl on Earth.
Until later, when Kamui loses control and reaches with his bloodstained hand for Chinatsu's heart. Abuto can't help sucking in a sharp breath.
The next second, he watches their strongest Night-Yato, the captain of the Seventh Division, vomit! blood! and! drop! to his knees! in front of the delicate, fragile girl!
In the dead silence, Chinatsu coughs up blood, her little face pale, and calmly looks back at him.
"Don't look at me like that. I thought Abuto knew. I'm just a weak, helpless healer!"
Abuto: Uh... you may have misunderstood what weak and helpless means...
Abuto: Also, Kamui's a little bit dead!

Much, much later
-Abuto, I think I might have fallen for that little brat Chinatsu. I get all itchy whenever I think of her. What if we keep her in the Seventh Division?
-You just want to fight her. And if we keep her here, headquarters will definitely issue a capture order for the Seventh Division.
-Then I'll wipe out headquarters too.
