You never know whether tomorrow or an accident will come first. Suddenly transmigrated as Ellie, a witch in the wilderness, all I want is some peace and quiet.
An endless wilderness, a ramshackle hut, no food or water, and not a bird in sight.
After finally finding a nearby village, Ellie is stunned. They bleed people, eat dirt, swallow leeches whole, and cauterize wounds with red-hot irons... She nearly pukes on the spot. Is this treatment or a way to make people sick?!
Luckily, she has a portable storage space, medicine, equipment, and medical skills. Add a little taste of the wonders of Eastern cuisine, and even a witch with a fearsome reputation can become a doctor.
After saving a young girl named Weier, Ellie's wicked reputation fades, and she unexpectedly gains a maid who works for free.
After treating the shepherd Sith's broken leg, word of Ellie's medical skills begins to spread.
Before long, the whole village is coming to her for treatment, and even Hughes, the lord of this wilderness, comes looking for her...
As long as she treats the people well, she'll have a house, farmland, and everything else she could want, including a noble lord.
Ellie shuts and locks the doors and windows. My lord, you're not my type!
Lord Hughes's vast domain has everything: high mountains, lakes, wilderness, and fertile fields. But he is troubled. His father has died of illness, his mother is gravely ill, and no matter how far he searches, he can't find a doctor who can cure her.
On top of that, the local magistrate sends an urgent report: a witch named Ellie has appeared in the Great Wilderness, a beautiful girl more lovely than poppies and more poisonous than a viper.
The letter says that when they tried to burn her at the stake, a heavy rain fell; when they tried to hang her, the rope snapped. No one can kill her, and no one dares go near her or her ramshackle hut. Lately, things have become even more frightening. The villagers are so bewitched by her that they've lost all sense of right and wrong: they clear land in the mountains, catch fish in the river, and have even stopped praying.
Furious after reading the letter, Hughes rides with his knights to the Great Wilderness. He doesn't find a broken-down hut, but he does find a beautiful young doctor whose treatments cure the sick and who is deeply loved by the people.
The villagers are warmer and more respectful toward her than they are toward Hughes.
Hughes, with all the hauteur of a lord, says, "If you can cure my mother's illness, I'll give you land, have a stone house built for you, and fill the grounds around it with flowers..."
He never imagined that the young doctor was Ellie, the witch of the wilderness. Wait, what?
Hughes falls in love with Ellie at first sight.
What he never expected was to be rejected?!
A Western fantasy story about medicine and farming. Come see the grim history and challenges of early Western medicine, and witness Ellie improve the lives of the common folk in the wilderness.
As always, I have a complete outline and character profiles, so the story is guaranteed to be finished.
