System 999 once took a desperate gamble and bound itself to a batch of Hosts to complete its evaluation mission.
They all came from a notorious space prison. They were utterly wicked, and everyone avoided them like the plague.
Fortunately, they longed for freedom.
Using that as leverage, 999 sent them into small worlds to play the protagonists and steal the antagonists' fortune.
But 999 never expected the antagonists in every world to fall in love with its Hosts, while the Hosts showed no mercy in killing them to complete their missions.
The missions went smoothly. Eager to get rid of this batch of walking disasters, 999 promised them one wish.
They all chose the same thing.
To return to the small worlds.
World One: The White Moonlight General's dead husband is a space pirate leader.
The general is the faith of the entire empire, its people's beloved White Moonlight. When they learned that the general's wife had died, everyone wanted to claim the beautiful widower for themselves, but the general had never accepted anyone's advances.
He claimed he couldn't forget his wife.
Everyone admired his devotion, except his wife herself, who gritted his teeth in fury.
"If I hadn't personally been blown to pieces by his cannon, I might have believed him."
To get revenge on his former husband, he willingly became a modified Omega, though he had once been a top-tier Alpha. Every day, he released his pheromones in front of his ex, speaking and acting provocatively and doing everything he could to tempt him.
Because he knew his ex hated Omegas like that most of all.
He just never expected to run into his ex during a rut, only to be dragged into a room and forcibly marked.
Later
The cold-blooded general seized his ankle and forced his chin up, his face grim. "Hate me or love me, either way, stay by my side for the rest of your life."
World Two: The Green Tea Prime Minister's dead husband is the Regent.
The prime minister became a widower at a young age. His suitors could circle the imperial city three times over, but no one had ever made it through his front door.
Rumor had it that a ghost was trapped in his courtyard: his late wife, unwilling to let him remarry.
The ghost himself cursed furiously. "That heartless bastard! Whoever marries him is doomed. I was afraid he'd stab you to death too!"
To get revenge on his former husband, the regent became a vengeful ghost after death and haunted the prime minister's courtyard every night, keeping him from sleeping as he waited for a chance to drag his ex to hell with him.
He just never expected that the moment he stepped into the courtyard again, a contract would be forced upon him, leaving him unable to stray from his ex's side.
Later
The frail prime minister's lips turned blue from the winter cold, yet he still refused to let go of the ghost's waist. Summoning his last strength, he pushed him into the warm bath. "Even if we die, we'll be a ghostly couple, bound together for all eternity."
World Three: The Cold Immortal Lord's dead husband is the Demon Venerable.
World Four: The Aloof Sword Cultivator's dead husband is a flower demon.
World Five: The Gentle Campus Heartthrob's dead husband is a domineering CEO.
World Six: The Frail Substitute's dead husband is a billionaire tycoon.
[Reader's Guide]
1. Every small world has a happy ending. The top was genuinely evil at first. If the bottom weren't so hopelessly lovestruck, the two could never have ended up together. It looks like they're stabbing each other, but really it's an unhinged man paired with a yandere. They're made for each other.
2. Both leads are each other's only partner. Full of melodrama, and there may be children.
3. The tops are beautiful, the bottoms are handsome, and both are strong.
4. I can't think of anything else for now. This blurb was written on 20250318 and has been screenshotted.
