My Beast-Taming Companions Are Way Too Strange

After transmigrating, Qiu Zhu comes to the legendary world of beast taming, where dragons soar through the sky and snow wolves race across rooftops, and technology and beast taming thrive side by side. But she awakens an absurdly awful evolution talent that can make a dragon devolve into a paramecium.

Qiu Zhu: Hello? I really don't want to be the one going backwards in this version, okay?

Then one day, a voice rings out:

"Ancient Sequence System activated. You will replace survival of the fittest and become the one who decides how life evolves."

"Now, choose an evolutionary path for your contracted beast."

Qiu Zhu discovers that any creature contracted with her grows whatever it consumes. Eat a jellyfish, and it grows translucent tentacles. Eat a snake, and it grows cold, eerie scales. Eat a monster that drives people insane... and it turns into a monster that drives people insane itself?

The wolf king, cornered in a desperate situation, transforms into a bone corpse wreathed in ghostly flames. The fallen divine bird grows pitch-black wings. All kinds of wondrous mutant species never before listed in any catalog are born under Qiu Zhu's hand.

People stare in disbelief. "What on earth are these creatures?!"

Your beast and my beast don't seem to be the same? Someone's doing research in the beast-taming world!

*For fantastical creatures, bloodlines are a curse that shackles them.

Those of lowly bloodlines are ignored, while those with precious bloodlines are kept by humans in greenhouses. Then, when they are abandoned, they experience devastating pain and disillusionment, discovering that they were worth nothing after all.

Until one day, a warm hand reaches out to them and says:

Make a contract with me. I'll help you break through your shackles and get everything you want.

For her, they will grow stronger, and stronger, and stronger.

Then they will crown their master with glory.

*After the apocalypse, the world falls into crisis. The familiar legends of gods become evil gods, and a vast shadow looms over the world. But only by relying on the gods' power, bringing it into the world in the form of cards, can people fight the various monsters.

When Chen Xiao transmigrates here, she brings nothing with her except a cute chibi pet-management game she's been playing in her previous life: "Where the Divine Beasts Live."

This world has no history of Huaxia, let alone any of the gods Chen Xiao knows. The top cards are Anubis the jackal, the feathered serpent god, and Inari's foxes. Unfortunately, Chen Xiao has zero affinity with any of them, so she can only use the game to soothe her homesickness.

When the divine beasts get hungry, she feeds them millet. When they're thirsty, she adds water to the right trough. When winter arrives in the game, she adds a thick layer of thatch to the roof of their house...and takes meticulous care of them.

Strangely, after she transmigrates, the game seems to undergo some wondrous changes. The adorable Qilin, who used to act all cute, calls itself "I" and demands that Chen Xiao treat it as her one and only faith. The solemn and majestic divine dragon sprawls its tail across the room, acting outrageously domineering.

And wondrous creatures never released by the game developers "happen to pass by" the divine beasts' home, steal Chen Xiao's food, and insist that she "take them in."

Chen Xiao: Does anyone get it? I can't even play my game properly anymore.

It isn't until she enters the divine trials system and is about to choose the card with the highest success rate and the most widespread use, [Cerberus], that a clear, ringing cry sounds from the depths of space, full of indignation:

"Chirp! You despicable descendant of humanity! I fed you so much millet, and you're abandoning me for that stinky, ugly dog?"

At the same time, a majestic voice sounds in her heart: "The sacred flame burns anew, the legacy continues, and exile has reached its end. Thank you for helping the lost gods. Now they can see their way home again."

The Huaxia gods from her game, the ones who made her feed them and barged into her home, are actually real?!!!

At first, when people see Chen Xiao summon a round, chubby bird, they scoff:

"Isn't that just a sparrow? My hydra could swallow it in one bite."

But Chen Xiao says, "Don't rush."

Just watch me feed it three pinches of millet!

[Divine Flame Illuminating the World: Bifang] has joined the deck.

"Where did Chen Xiao get her cards?"

"Why can't I win with a three-headed dog when she has just one head?"

"A nine-tailed fox beat the crap out of my nine-tailed snake too!!"
