[All finished! Going premium on the 30th, starting from Chapter 20. If you’ve already read it, don’t buy it twice!] Guided by her bloodline, Bai Jiaguo crossed the doorway to another world and arrived in a land of magic. Good news: Her parents were from the magical world. Bad news: She couldn’t use magic. Either way, she still had to go to school. The anti-discrimination law had been in effect for years, and she was admitted as a special student. Other students could earn credits by helping her, so she was very popular at school and everyone treated her kindly. Bai Jiaguo really did have a wonderful year and made lots of friends. But in the end, someone who couldn’t use magic didn’t belong there. A year later, she successfully returned to her original world and went on with her life. Since it had been so hard to get there and the chance was rare, she wanted to invite her classmates from the magic school to hang out. But not one of them was willing to come, and they all treated her completely differently. That was when Bai Jiaguo realized that their relationship had only ever been one of mutual convenience. They had helped her fit in and enjoy an exceptionally happy school life. In return, she had helped them earn credits worth a fortune. Bai Jiaguo, finally realizing how one-sided her feelings had been: ...This is so awkward. I’m so embarrassed I want to forget everything on the spot. She fled the magical world. Many years later, she fell to her death, and then she was reborn several days before she had transmigrated to the magical world. Bai Jiaguo took it well. She hadn’t suffered any mistreatment in the magical world, and now she could erase the embarrassing memories of having read too much into things. She could also look into the reason for her death and rebirth. No loss there. This time, she tried to keep her distance from people and stay out of everything, so she wouldn’t cause anyone trouble. Unexpectedly, she uncovered the truth behind many events she had never learned about in her previous life. Bai Jiaguo entertained herself, never noticing that some people were often frustrated by how readily she kept out of their way. A few things to know: 1. My take on Chinese-style Western fantasy (. 2. I want to write a bit of old-school Mary Sue fiction. The heroine will have lots of people falling for her. 3. No love-interest betting pool. The main story won’t settle on a male lead, but the extras will have multiple endings, giving the male characters a chance to shine on their own. 4. This is a rehabilitation story to get my writing mojo back. I’m not sure how good it’ll be, but I hope you enjoy it. 4. If it turns out really bad, I’ll confess that my cotton doll wrote the whole thing (?). 5. I’ll add more if I think of anything. Theme: Talent matters, but hard work matters more.
