the lowest-ranking kind, a corporate-slave little god.

He wishes his boss would stop picking fights and his worshippers would stop talking nonsense.

He doesn't even care whether the wish is in his line of work.

Then one day, a young volunteer comes to the temple.

The volunteer is pretty handsome, but he's a jerk, all swagger and bad attitude. He calls the little god a loser and even steals the offerings to eat.

The little god gets into fights with the volunteer every day.

But the little god's work goes more and more smoothly. Gradually, his superiors stop docking his performance pay, people stop complaining that he takes whatever assignments he's given, and nobody calls him the most useless little god anymore.

It's as if he has someone powerful backing him.

The little god thinks the Ghost King's Hall really is effective.

To thank the Ghost King, he secretly takes a red string from the Matchmaker's Hall every day and bribes the Ghost King with it.

It's the most valuable thing in their little run-down temple.

Then one day, the little god causes a huge mess.

He alters a worshipper's fate against the will of Heaven and tampers with the karma database.

He even gets into a shouting match with the Black and White Impermanence, landing on the trending list of the Three Realms

and earning the title of the filthiest-mouthed little god in all the Three Realms.

Not long after, the Underworld sends someone to call him to account.

Who would have thought it would be that volunteer, Mu Ziye?

He's ruthless and does things his own way, striking without hesitation.

In a flash, he uses 180 red strings to tie up the little god and carry him off.

Delinquent volunteer Mu Ziye: "I'm only a volunteer on the side. My main job is being the Ghost King."
